There are tons of threads on this already. Please use the search function to find them.
I think you'll find a majority of people on this site prefer PCM over everything else.
As for cost...I don't think the audio codec has a direct impact on the pricing of the movies as much as the anticipation for demand does. IMO

PCM 2.1 will go over optical, nothing more.
