Haha, I wasn't talking about you.

I have this one friend who so blindly supported Microsoft that when everyone else was talking about how much they hated Vista and how companies en masse were going back to XP he would practically stick his hand down his pants every time Vista was mentioned.

I've also had friends that on their 3rd or 4th 360 would happily send it back to Microsoft to get repaired.

Plain sillyness if you ask me.

You don't need a massive amount of money to have a Mac.

Just wait until the current Macs are being sold off by their owners, one friend of mine has to get 'the next big thing' and brand new stuff right off the lot within days of them coming out.

That's how I got my totally up-to-date Mac Pro {last years model} for $800. 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB of RAM. If I look at random PC's right now that are at that price I can't even remotely get anything comparable.

And there are 2nd hand shops that have similar deals as well. Just a matter of waiting until the prices come down on the newer models in order to get a deal.

You're not looking in the right places. I got a new PC a few months ago for $900, 2.66 Ghz quad core with 6 gig of RAM, tv tuner, and HDMI output.... and that was of course for a never been used PC. I could have gotten one with a blu-ray drive for the same price... but the specs were a bit lower, so I opted to install my own BD drive later if I choose to.

Vista never deserved the vast majority of bashing that it got. 95% of that bashing comes from people who barely know how to use their PC for more than email and Facebook... and they jumped right on the "ZOMG Vista Suxors" bandwagon JUST because they found UAC annoying and had no idea how easily it could be disabled. It's a highly stable OS that does an EXCELLENT job of maintaining it's own core. I've run the same install of Vista 24 hours a day since it came out, without any loss of performance; no matter how many things I install or uninstall. It's not very efficient with it's resources.... but it is indeed a very solid and reliable OS. XP was much more resource efficient.... but I had to do a clean install at least once a year to keep it running at it's top speed.

Now anyone who wants to bash Windows Millenium Edition... send me an invite, and I will gladly join THAT party.
