I'm such a vinyl nut, that I've even bought those Verbatim CD-R's that look like mini 45's!

How sick is that?

John

So it may be the Perfect Match for you.

I have two Laser Disc players for John, a Sony and a Pioneer. John, if you take them off my hand, you can have about 20 LD movies for free.

The shots are simply amazing Big Daddy ! I just can't get over How dark the blacks are . And the clarity of the pics is stunning .

I still have my LaserDiscs as well,Big Daddy .

I often wondered if they would ever be collectables or if they would ever be worth thr $40 and more they used to be when a Movie was first released.
I remember paying $59.99 at SunCoast the day Apollo 13 came out on LaserDisc .

I have been holding on to them in case they may be valuble a couple of hundred years from now...

I need to sell the projector so that I can buy a bigger and better subwoofer. I don't believe my 8 subwoofers in the HT room make the grade. I can hardly hear any bass sound.

I am just teasing. If I sell the Epson projector, my wife will have me shot. That is one thing in the HT room that she is attached to and truly enjoys. Recently, she has been telling me how awesome the sound is. Maybe, it is time to take advantage of her good feeling and buy more junk.

I have about 20 Laser Disc movies left. I bought them around $40-$50 each. Luckily, we had a place that used to rent LD movies and VHS. I used to rent about 2-3 LDs every week.

Wow, your screen shots prove your wife is right in really liking it. What would you replace it with? (No, another sub does not count! )

Projectors and their pictures give you a much better feeling than TVs.

I started buying projectors in early 1990's. The first real projector was a Sharp that I purchased for over $5,000. It was massive and took me a long time to attach it to the ceiling. It is now sitting in my garage. After the Sharp, I bought 3 Sony projector. My current Epson 1080UB is my 5th projector and the cheapest, but it is the best performing projector that I have owned. That is mainly because technology has improved quite a bit.

For a review of projectors, check here:
http://www.projectorreviews.com/home...projectors.php

For less than $3,000, you can buy an Epson 6500UB or 1080UB. Epson is the largest manufacturer of LCD projectors. They have developed the D7 TFT panels. Other manufacturers such as Panasonic use them.

Panasonic PT-AE3000U is also a great projector.

If you want to spend more, you can buy a Sony VPL-VW70 or one of the JVC DLS-RS Series:

If you are looking for a 720P projector below $1,000, the Epson Home Cinema 720 or Sanyo Z60 projectors are good options.

If you want to watch TV and projector in the same room, you need a pull-down screen. There are manual pull-down screens that are very cheap and the electrical ones that are expensive. A fixed-frame screen is the best option in a separate dedicated home theater room.

If your room is totally dark, you should buy a white screen. If you have a lot of ambient light, buy a gray screen. The screens will provide you with years of service. Many people use their walls instead of screens.

My custom-made subwoofer enclosure (25" Tall, 20" Wide, 28" Deep) for the 15" Dayton Titanic driver and made by ED arrived today. One word describes it:
