Make sure all the speakers are set to SMALL and the subwoofer is set to YES. When you watch a Blu movie, set your receiver to STANDARD or DIRECT. Also, run the calibration program again.
When I run the Auto Calibration program, it sets the speakers back to large. When i switch it to small, it doesnt sound as good but the bass is stronger. This is confusing.

My SC-07 does the same thing , Every time I run the MCACC It sets the speakers to large . I just change them back to small & check everything else to make sure the crossover is still set to 80 .
I don't know why it would not sound as good though .
Mine sounds fine .

Does your receiver have a subwoofer level adjustment for HDMI (usually under HDMI settings menu)? If so, you might want to check to see if it got turned off. You should be able to set it to +10 (or auto) to compensate for the lower bass you are experiencing.

Default Infinity - PS210 on sale

Hi, Electronics Expo has the Infinity PS 210 on sale for $159 (MSRP $379).
It is a 10 inch, 300 watt powered subwoofer. How would the HDSUB-10, which can be had for around the same price, compare to the Infinity in terms of sound quality? I am debating between the two, and would appreciate any input. Thanks

For the same price I would get the infinity. I have 2 ps212 infinity subs and they sound great.

Finally found a movie that farted out my AA sub The amp's sub level is set at 0 and the AA subs level is a little under 50%.

Not that its funny, but now I know what you guys mean by "farting out". The movie in question is the new StarTrek. Someone lent me an advanced copy last night and two scenes made it... i'm gonna watch it again this week end so I can give you a proper scene and time.

Default Driver replacement

As I stated earlier mr driver was punctured by my daughter. Do you guys think one of the dayton drivers will work? I was looking at the quatro or the classic Let me know what you think. I know some people say you r not to add a different driver to an enclosure unless the specs match. Thediscount doesn't have the specs to the woofer on their site.

I replaced the original driver of my HD-SUB12 with a driver from Elemental Designs and it works. You should be ok with one of the drivers from Dayton (Parts Express).

i'm thinking about adding a 2nd sub to my set-up for a little more mid-bass impact. how do you guys think an hd sub10 would get along w/ an ed a2-300? the ed is currently in a corner and sounds good, but i've always wanted to add a 2nd sub for some more bass goodness. and, at a price of around $150 the aa sounds right up my alley...

Default AA12 Sub with receiver that has no pre-out

Hi. Hope someone can help me. Just received my AA sub the other day and on the back I have RCA inputs and speaker wire inputs. My receiver only has dedicated sub speaker wire connections. The sub has two neg and pos for left and two neg and pos for right. Is it okay to hook this sub up to this receiver through speaker wire and where do I connect the speaker wire through the left terminals or right. I have tried different ways and the sub is producing sound but it does not sound good at all. Am I suppose to be doing this or do I just need a new receiver? Thanks, and great forum!

This sub is not made to be hooked up through speaker wire, those terminals on the back of the sub are for running your others speaker through the sub which most people don't do. I'm guessing your coming from a home theater in a box setup, since those are the only recievers that i know of that have speaker wire terminals for the subwoofer. You basically can't use this sub until you get a different reciever that has RCA cable input for the subwoofer. You would use this cable http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2 to run to the back of the subwoofer from your reciever.

Thanks. You meant subwoofer cable output, right? Because I have a subwoofer input on my receiver but it is for the 6ch inputs Will it ruin the sub if I have it hooked up through speaker wire because it doesn't sound so bad now. I am eventually going to get a receiver with the lossless blu codecs but I barely got this sub through the wifey's approval so I'll have to wait.

You can run the sub on speaker level just fine. I have mine in the bedroom done this way. Run your left/right wires from your receiver(instead of your speakers) to the "input" side of your sub(+/-) then run your wires from the output side of the sub(+/-) to the corresponding speakers.(Do this for both the right and left) Then in your receiver setttings set the front speakers to "large" and set the crossover on your sub to 80hz and start off the volume on the sub to 2/3 volume and go from there. You may have to play around with the volume and crossover until you can find the right sound for your setup. Good luck!

That's great info and I would do that except I don't have any outputs on my SUB12 RW. I thought there were when I checked the specs but I have no outputs what so ever on this sub. Is this a mistake? I cannot currently find pics of the back of a RW on the net to prove this.

Don't raise the level on the back of the sub beyond the 3/4 point. Most movies do not have a lot of bass, but there are some that can easily send your subwoofer to hell.

Except if you have a 15" Titanic and a custom eD enclosure

In that case, your subwoofer will go to the moon.
