UK DISCS EXACT SAME AS US DISCS. Identical data, identical number and sequence of 1's and 0's, with a different shiny label slapped on the top.

I just got the Complete Series boxset on Monday (for my birthday!) and pretty much immediately decided to lose the cases that the discs came in in favor of some Viva Elite cases. I got the covers here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...=#post17017905 (Scrollup to see the covers).

This is what I did with them:
I put each season into 2 Elite cases, either 2-disc or 3-disc, except for Razor which is in a single disc case, and added "Disc" labels to the designs that I downloaded from that link. (Discs 1+2, Discs 3+4, etc.) I think the result is really nice and much better than the cardboard sleeves the discs came in. I can't wait to add "The Plan" to the end of the set to make it officially complete.

Here are some crappy cell phone pictures:

Wow! Looks good man. very professional looking. I might do that to my UK version if i dont like the cases that come with it. Homefully i can fit them in the tin... Show us the inside of the cases if you end up taking pictures of that. I am curious if these cases are like the Lost season blu cases..

Sorry to say you won't be able to fit them in the tin. The disc holders in the tin are sized just a bit smaller than a CD case, then stacked with tape at one end so it flips open.
Search for a youtube video or unboxing of it.

So a full BD case wouldn't fit in there even if you took out the foam and tried to get them in, I think the tin isn't deep enough to accommodate them.

As to the Lost blus, they have more than 3 discs, and my UK version of Season 4 is a double size case to hold them all. I think that the US releases are the same.

Thanks for the earlier link.

Man this is Just what I have been waiting for.I will get Season 1 on Blu Ray on its Release Date of January 2010.

Now that they have made the announcement that Season 1 is coming out on Blu Ray,I wonder how long it will be inbetween Season Releases.
I hope it doesnt take the entire year of 2010 to release all 4 Seasons.

I would be more then Happy With them releasing a Season Every Month(or at the least every 2 months).
But just knowing that the individual Seasons will start making their way on the market thrills me to no end.

Just a warning to anyone who buys the UK edition from Amazon:

When you come to the payment page they agree to convert your order to dollars instead of pounds. There appears to be a fee incorporated into this. Since most credit cards already charge a 2-3 % conversion fee, you might end up paying both, im not sure. I declined the Amazon.uk offer and just had my card charged in pounds; after the conversion fee it came out to about $166. I dont know if Amazon waives your personal credit card fee and just charges theirs, or if you get charged for both. Just a warning. If anyone has already done this please let us know....

thx,

Just got my Battlestar Galactica the Complete series UK edition in the mail today. (took 6 days)

All i can say is wow! They did an awesome job with this. Glad i ponyed up and bought it. Discs do play on US Bluray players (in case you havent been reading the previous posts) Picture and Sound are really good (beware that the picture looks like its supposed to) and the supplements seemed to be packed to the gills in this box set.

I do have one question for you BSG fans... I have never seen the Razor movie. I might let some family borrow the series. At what point in the series should they watch it? I know its packed in Season 4 set, but is there any reason they could see it along side season 2 ?? ( spoilers, etc...) Just curious...

It was broadcast after season three ended, before season four. That's when it should be watched. Disregard where it fits chronologically, and think of it as a flashback situation. The themes and revelations that occur, while chronologically taking place during season two, are meant to impact the way you approach some things in season four.

Hello fellow Fort Worthian! I too am from Funky town! Did everything work out for you with the conversion fee? I think I may import this as well. A lot cheaper! Region free right? Could you post some pics of the collection?

Hey guys,

I did a little searching on the net, but I really want to avoid any spoilers as I'm just finishing up the series for a first time.

I have a question about the very last disc of season 4.5...

I noticed the episodes are labeled (I believe; I'm not home at the moment):
* Day Break Part 1
* Day Break Parts 2 & 3
* Day Break Extended Edition

My question is, which episode(s) is the extended edition for? Is it for Part 1, Parts 2 & 3, or both?

I've been watching the extended editions up until now instead of watching the shorter ones - so far they've been easy to figure out which episodes they're for.

Thanks for any help you can send my way.

The extended edition presents all three Daybreak episodes as a single movie-length episode. I had never seen the episodes individually, so I can't help you with which episode is extended. But, I believe there's about a half-hour of extra footage scattered throughout, based on a couple reviews I've read, so maybe each "episode" is receiving some extra scenes.

The extended is all three parts combined and runs around 2.5 hours I think. I would look if I could get to my set at the moment but I can't.
Hope this helps.

Glad to hear from another Texan (& Fort Worthian) I'll try not to hold it against you that you like A & M. ( just kidding )

Yes as a few other members can attest to, this is a "Region All " set. You should be able to play it on any US Bluray player. I have an older ps3 and it has no problem playing. It does take a little while to load (even with the ps3 lightning speed) but i have had no issues.
As for the conversion fees, yes it worked out for me since i didnt do the amazon offer, but if you have a credit card that doesnt charge conversion fees I would recomend you use that to purchase; it will save you about $4.50. (i unfortunately didnt) I believe Capitol One has no conversion fees.

I highly recommend you picking up this set if you are a BSG fan. It is much better packaged than the US version , and will probably end up being cheaper than the individual seasons. (also you'll have to wait probably a year before the rest are released)

What part of Fort Worth do you live in? I am in the TCU area off Forest Park. I can tell you this summer has made me seriously consider moving though...

That's really good to here since I will definitely order the Uk version. I think it'll come out to at least 50-75 dollars cheaper. Worth it and huge fan of the series!

BTW my wife and I live off of Camp Bowie near the museum district next to Rivercrest CC, but my grand-parental units live within viewing distance of the TCU football stadium off Westcliff Rd. It's nice to see someone in the forums that I can relate to. LOL! I know what you mean about the summer though. I can't believe how cold it got these past few days. We had no transition period!

So I only have to watch the extended episode. That's what I was wondering.

Thanks for the help!

They (and now you) are correct. "Daybreak" Extended is the entire 3 part finale, with extra footage, edited into a 2 1/2 hour movie. Also, it is excellent.
