That posting is designed to get some morons writing about a possible Warner switch to BD, without any evidence at all.

There are some BD-biased journalists that watch blu-ray.com and print almost anything that is said there.

By getting a story like this into credible magazines and papers, the BD camp hope to create enough fear, uncertainty and doubt to SLOW DOWN the HD DVD hardware and software sales.

I am certain that this is nothing but a false campaign to try to get a story printed somewhere.

HOWEVER - HERE is what HD DVD supporters should do:

(1) Look out for any respectable websites or newspapers that carry this false rumour.

(2) Report them to me at campaignhd @t gmail d0t com

(3) write to the media, complaining of what journalist and/or editor would publish such false information on the basis of a "rumour" poster, without verifying ANY of the information, or even waiting for "10am" to hear the supposed announcement.

I think the post there has been made almost entirely to create false reports in mainstream media by bd-biased reporters, to attempt to create FUD in buyers and slow down HD DVD's momentum.
Wow, is this the most hypocritical statement you've EVER seen since the format war started?

His whole CampaignHD site does exactly what he's waffling on about here.

What a total fool.

I'm fairly new to all the High Def format videos but I agree, that guy is WAAAAY over the top. I bet he sees black helicopters flying all over the place!

He posted this, because like someone said earlier--this rumor, if anything, will make people sit up and listen and sales could go way down.

I think the hype over this is bigger than Halo 3 to us Blu-ray fans.

In exactly 16 hours and 8 minutes his little world of make believe may be collapsing around him and it couldn't happen to a better web personality than his.

I doubt it was him too. He posted about going to dinner at around 2:40pm PST, which would make for a very weird dinner time for P-Man, who I believe is in the LA area.
I'd be more inclined to believe it was MaxPower on a business trip to the US east coast.

Yea, but seriously, how many of the general populace read the internet forums for high def media?

Especially with a such a short deadline for the "rumor"?

Backfired then.

A reasoned response from Blu-ray supporters, more doubt about HD-DVD, and potential denials from WB that will be reported across the media sowing more seeds.

I don't think this has anything to do with this topic.

G4's announcement is related to the network.

All I gotta say is props for creating a rumor this dramatic, whether true or false, it's pretty gutsy. In the mean time, I'll be doing my homework and waiting till tomorrow to see if this is true. Hope so, but I won't be let down if not.

PS: I didn't read any posts except for the original, but my god this thing has a lot of responses!
