Correct, the original title was "Warner Going Blu-ray Exclusive. Confirmed".

Well, all of this is great fun but isn't getting us anywhere. Why don't we just relax and wait.

If, however, Warner were to go exclusive then it would make sense for them to do so now rather than wait until Q1 2008. Tens of thousands of people who may buy HD DVD players in the coming shopping season would feel betrayed if the major publisher of high definition discs stopped supporting their system a few weeks after they bought in. Much better to go exclusive beforehand and not mislead anyone.

Warner Brothers NEVER leaned towards hddvd, only Nickerson did. WB has always been Blu friendly.

After reading the last couple of pages of the insiders thread my 20% belief factor is up to about 90%.

Hope I'm reading it right.

Penton-Man just said there were discussions but he was not aware of an announcement tomorrow.

So I'm not sure what that means. Maybe he knows there is a deal but hasn't heard about the announcement coming?

Or maybe it means that there is no deal at all, just a "discussion".

Anyway I'm going to just believe its not true so I don't get my hopes up too high.

Okay, since we are now thinking it might be true, here's a question to add to this thread for some thought.

I will start with the negative and end on the positive:

1.) If it doesn't happen tomorrow or if Warner shocks the world and goes Red, what will you do?

2.) Same question in reverse: If it does happen tomorrow and Warner crosses the line, what will you do?

I haven't read posts in a couple hours, so I don't know if this has been posted...if it has, please forgive and just say that I'm drunk or smokin something.

Edit: I know what we will do if it is all a hoax, but I was not trying to openly endorse killing FUD spreaders.

Mine too! I can't see him being more positive. But we will see tomorrow! (Maybe he is just trying to give Amir a fit.) But the silence on AVS from the HD-DVD people at least for one night is refreshing!

I have received a few PM's from various people and I'd just like to say that I did not start this thread.
I have heard nothing about this rumour from the people I know at Warner, but having said that I haven't talked to anyone in over a fortnight so I really don't have a frikkin' clue what's going on there right now.

At the very least, this thread has been fun.

See you all tomorrow!

I mentioned about 2 weeks ago? that alot is going on behind the scenes that I am not at liberty to disclose at this time………plus, it is not uncommon for announcements to not reach the mainstream media exactly on the day intended due to a plethora of reasons.

There have been discussions, but I have no information about an announcement tomorrow.

sounds like something might be done or close to done, but the announcement is going to be delayed past tommorow.

The only money they lose is people who were planning on picking up hd dvd, absolutely won't pick up blu-ray and decide to buy no player at all. I'm sure there might be a couple thousand vocal blu-ray haters like that, probably because they hate the PS3 since it competes with another system they own. Not a huge chunk of the market. To add to that, think of all the fence sitters who might buy blu-ray players, and then buy WB movies as a result of the announcement. It'd dwarf the losses 100 fold.
If Warners announces (which, again, I doubt they will) tomorrow, it would show a lot of class on their part. Blu-ray sales would soar. But, most importantly, the more rational of the HD-DVD fans would be in a position to not invest more into a losing format. And that would be a true kindness in my mind.
