My first LED TV will be a next-generation local dimming set, likely from Samsung, possibly from Sony (depending on prices). I'm not going to get a plasma because while I respect the quality of the picture, I just don't like how it looks compared to a good LED and I don't value the contrast and accuracy of color as much as I value the clarity and brilliance of local dimming LEDs, which come pretty close to plasma anyway in terms of PQ. Why do so many posters here have a problem with this? Why are these educated preferences equated with ignorance just because they happen to be shared by the masses who haven't done the research?
Why not grab an XBR8 while you can? Prices have dropped and they are awesome.
