Default Paramount Made A Mistake

I believe Paramount made a mistake when they went HD DVD. I believe if they had made better choses on the first movie releases they would have made more money resulting them staying with Blu Ray. If they released movies such as:

Braveheart,Indiana Jones Triology,Enemy At The Gates,Titanic,Any Of the Jack Ryan Movies, and Any Of The Star Trek Movies as well.

Just courious what the rest of my Blu Blooded family feels.

Default They should have...

done a deal with HD-DVD for less $$$ and kept Blu Ray, instead they got greedy and that will end up costing them. I think the other studios (namely Warner & Universal) now have more flexibility (or will soon have, contractually) to offer both fomats or BD exclusive, leaving Paramount alone on the HD-DVD exclusive list. Of course it was dumb and short-sighted, but as we all know; GREED CAN BLIND.

If Paramount is ready to release Braveheart, Enemy At The Gates, and Titanic, rest assured that Fox will be ready too. Fox owns the international distribution of Braveheart and Titanic, while Enemy At the Gates is a mixed/independent distribution deal. Fox will undoubtedly get more $$$ from US/Canadian owners who will import these BDs from South East Asia/Japan.

Possibly. I just think they cashed in because they know they have a catalogue that's tougher to sell in high definition. Their titles were available on both formats and the HD DVD versions sold very poorly.

Ahh, what the hell, they took the cash and they will eventually release all their movies on Blu-Ray in the future anyway, so they win/win.

First off Welcome to the winning side. Unfortunately this feeling that Paramount making a big mistake is bigger than them releasing the wrong movies at the wrong time. It's simply a slap in this face to Hi-def. fans who just want to watch their movie of choice on their format of choice. Sorry about the troll comments, some of us are a little bitter about the biggest troll thread ever that caused some of us to have kittens.
