Correct. So if you want to hear DTS ES 6.1 Discrete or Dolby EX 5.1, set the PS3 audio setting to HDMI bitstream.

I'm guessing that for the Onkyo 605, the sides speakers in a 5.1 audio IS the rear speakers.
