I know! I was rolling my eyes when I heard about Shemaroo. Their logo and their authoring 'abilities' ruin the whole movie-watching experience.

OMG! Yet another fiasco written all over. Hopefully, these authoring houses in India come up with a benchmark prior to joining the foray. It is really sad that most of the Indian BD PQ is substandard and YRF would not even include lossless audio. This is indeed a sad day in Indian blu ray chapter.

I own a Shemaroo Fight Club and it looked quite awesome. Then i got a Shemaroo Dus and it looked so awful i just gave it to my older bro haha.

Actually, they put their logo on video to prevent piracy....Due to good quality piracy people used their dvd as a master...

Truth is always bitter . They might won a award always but yes Most of DVD authored by them sucked big time .

I have many collections of DVD from Sheemaro i had to buy only cause of Movies which were best always .

Their Logo is most annoying among Indian DVD Authoring companies.

i suggest you come with the right facts that prove me wrong.

if they won the best authoring award, that just shows how substandard the award must be.

because in my opinion, the best authoring house in india is excel.

i saw what they did with parineeta & dor...i havent seen that kind of quality in indian dvds. i wish they make the leap to bluray soon.

so you mean their intention wasnt to self promote their brand name to death ?

these companies need to realise, that people dont buy dvds for the authoring brand....but for the movie itself.

but on the contrary, if the authoring house has a track record of bad quality, it just makes it easy for the consumer to not buy their movies.

so either way, shemaroo is being immature by hardcoding their logo onto the master.

believe it or not, they also have 10 min commericals on their VCD's. i bet that was to prevent piracy too.

u guys should be grateful that these ppl are even thinkin about releasin on bluray!

wht wud u all do if indian blurays never came out? i think we shud be encouragin more studios to embrace bluray technology rather than saying "sry but u hav a history of poor dvd authoring, hence ur forbidden to release blurays"

i think everyone gets a lil too excited ..u shud let them gradually catch up with the hollywood video quality standard.

nd as far as this thread is related ..i think we shud be discussin abt possible movies coming out rather than bashing their quality(which this section has an abundance of)

Guys we are speaking about bluray not DVD and VCD.... These atleast started something to promote all the studios might get start too... Shemaroo's dvds are much far better than moserbaer's old movies.... Let us see a pilot BD authored by shemaroo then comment about the bluray disc. Forget about the past guys is BD high def... atleast we might be getting older movies to watch in full HDTV. hope we all get better PQ and AQ in future...

There is only one company for DVD awards in India. They publish a magazine also. Just check who is the sponsor of award function?

Is it not easy to grab the maximum awards when you are the main sponsor?

You cant get anything good from any authoring company till the content providers dont provide proper quality sources to the authoring house.
If they provide SD qualityof their own logo, their own promos, 2 hours of extra features and promo of forthcoming BD titles, and instruct to upscale , then what an authoring company can do in that case?

Not accept the job or insist the BD is labelled properly (e.g. video 1080p from upconverted PAL source). The rest is up to the customers to reject such fake HD on BDs. Selling SD as HD is fraudulent.
