Price and lack of "exciting" games, and by that I mean games that get the public talking. Right now there's no must-have game out for the PS3 that actually sells systems. That'll change, but it's taking time.

You are correct. However we all know there are lots of good games and media hype does not a great game make. teh mass media and general public likes garbage. Do you think they could ever get mega hype behind a title like Oblivion reagrdless of what system it's on?

If that wasn't a must-own on every system then nothing is.

Oblivion is not a must-own title . I say that owning the PC version, but mostly because I wanted to load mods for it - without them I probably wouldn't have it at all.

The point is, there is no such thing as a "Must OWN!!!" title. Everyone has their own tastes. Oblivion is a great game but not the kind that will generate media hype. People who don't like FPS will hate Halo3, RFOM, MGS4 or Bioshock... it doesn't matter, they'll hate it. A game that is perfectly made may not generate much buzz just because of its genre.

There is no way at all that the PS3 would sell less than the Gamecube... not a chance in hell.

I had a Gamecube, I bought it for the Resident Evil games when they were supposed to be exclusive to the Gamecube from Capcom. But after RE4, the Gamecube took a big nosedive, and all of the games were kiddie games. Traded in it for God of War II I think...

There was a thread about this on gamespot. The ps3 is roughly around the same area as the 360 was at this point in it's lifespan... Don't freak out over charts like that.

The big difference is that the Gamecube, with its lack of sales, was hurt because nothing was ported, because it was not capable of handling anything that pushed out for the other consoles. The PS3, at a minimum, will always get ports. For better or worse. There wouldn't be a worse if EA was actually forced to code properly. Idiots.

It will be amusing when all the PS3 critics are taken to task. The amount of general hatred expressed by so many people for Sony is insane. It's a company, not a serial killer. The Walkman rocked. That more than makes up for their privacy indiscretion. The viral campaign of the 360 and the Wii is a bloody miracle. You take two pieces of shit, market the hell out of them, and produce a general hatred for a technically superior machine.

And.... AND... IT'S ALWAYS THE SAME TIRED ARGUMENTS:

(1) TOO EXPENSIVE; and
(2) NO GAMES.

The fact that every gaming site on the site is sponsered by Microsoft and its links to Ziff Media is never examined. Nor is it every at issue the fact that the XBox 360 is a complete piece of shit that should have resulted in a manufacture recall. Halo is great, but how long can you play the game until the GPU warps your mobo and results in RROD.

It will be funny when Blu-ray wins the format and console war and every single gaming site that critiqued Sony is forced to beg to get an exclusive.

In any event, it will be awesome to play FFXIII, MGSIV, and GTAIV next year.
