If the dates in here are right:
Quote:
On December 15th, Celine will take her final bow on the Colosseum stage at Caesars Palace, capping a sell-out five-year run of her Cirque du Soleil-inspired, multi-octave circus of song and dance "A New Day..." Sony BMG will now bring the show home for the first time only a few days later, debuting day-and-date Blu-ray and standard-def DVD versions on December 11.
they will be bringing it out before the final show. So, maybe it will be the 18th instead. I wonder if they will sell it as Caesars Palace.

I'm not much of a fan, but given that it is a "Cirque du Soleil-inspired" show, I'll probably check it out (since I'm a big fan of Cirque du Soleil).

Ya, I know. This should be the quint essential HD DVD Killer! Imagine the sound quality. Just as if you were stupid enough to pay $150 bucks and were actually there in person!

All i can say is that in the summer the Toronto paper did a list of the top 10 worst Canadians...and Celine Dion was in the top 10, and she was hated more than serial killers lol Now that is what I call hatred

Interesting. But that aside... You know, you wouldn't want to release a concert on blu or anything that a higher percentage of people might be even remotely interested in? Maybe it's just me, but some of the titles announced for release on BD just don't help the cause to attract potential new HD customers or to encourage HD DVD owners to make the inevitable switch over to Blu. As a fledgling format, shouldn't one show the big guns first to attract fence sitters and the like to come on board? Great titles are being released now and soon, but still, the concert selection is bleak and to squander it on this? Personally, I'm waiting for the Partridge Family reunion tour on BD.

Thumbs down

wow so excited, I do not know if its because she is coming to blu or she is free to torture us again with her music now her show is coming to a end. to think that life could not get any more worse than it is. just kidding but seriously I detest her songs.
well on a positive note this might be a good one for the chicks or any closet male fans, oh I hope it gets lossless or 7.1 surround sound

Real simple:

Just because I may not personally care about something...hell, as long as it sells and appeals to as wide and diverse a demographic as possible for Blu, I'm all for it.

This is just as important and noteworthy as highschool musical 2.

Sure I wouldnt be caught dead watching either, but these are still immensely popular events, and both will help bluray.

Celine helps target older people, presumably with more money since 5 years worth of vegas shows are filled with atleast a fair amount of financially well off individuals. Not a bad thing in my opinion.
