Day After Tomorrow disc problem?

I don't know if anyone else experienced this, but when my main menu comes up and i select the play button, the movie doesn't play. Its just a black screen that doesn't go anywhere. I actually have to hit the skip scene button to play it. One thing i noticed is if there is no animation on the background of your main menu and its just a black screen, the movie won't play when you select it. Once i check out the special features and go back to the menu, the animation shows up and the movie would then work. This is kinda bothering me since i don't know if its normal or just my disc having a problem.
