No, if you look up Kill Bill on here, it has the same look.

Clerks was down to 20.99 for a while, and Chasing Amy went down to 24.49. A response to the Best Buy sale I think.

Not the best prices ever, but still much better than the prices they have now.

They'll probably drop a little after they've been out a while.

No, these are the images that we are provided by Disney for our reviews. Disney's images for the cover are typically different from the actual cover for Blu-ray releases.

ROFL. That was my exact first thought too.

I just...can't...bring myself to buy it on Blu-ray when I have it on DVD lol. Especially since Kevin Smith autographed it for me.

Now all we need is Mallrats. Plus, a possibly restored version of Drawing Flies and all the other films that are View Askew that Kevin Smith didn't direct.

Mallrats and Jersey Girl on blu would be great.
I have the mallrats HD-DVD. I'd like to see the extended cut on blu.

going to get the set tuesday. wondering if target will have it at a fair price. Although I may go with amazon and get the 2 day shipping option with star trek as well

Quite honestly, Mallrats is probably my least favorite Kevin Smith film, though I'd buy it just to add to my collection. And if it comes out, they need to have both cuts of the movie via seamless branching.

Plus a proper release of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

Plus Clerks TAS. They can do it, I'm sure. I'd rebuy that thing in an instant if it was remastered in HD. Honestly, if the price wasn't bad, I'd probably be willing to rebuy an upscale even, just so that I'd get the benefit of lossless sound and high bitrate video.

Not to mention Jersey Girl, of course.

I was watching the 10 years after Q&A portion (I'm guessing this is the same one on the 10th Anniversary DVD) for "Clerks" and man...that was such a bummer. Really seem like the questions put some of them in a bad mood. Then I saw the 10 years after Q&A for "Chasing Amy"...

These two Q&A's...the questioning really brought out the skeletons from the closet.

And I take it that pre-2007, Jason Mewes is just out of it? His answers on both Q&A's made me wonder if his brain is fried.

Complete your collection. KS has the autographed Blus up on his site for pre-sale. I've got my order in.

Kevin Smith is a horrible director and writer, but this is his one good film.

Jason Mewes had a very terrible drug problem and Kevin Smith refused to work with him for a long time. Mewes wanted a sequel to Clerks so Smith said he would do the sequel on the condition that Mewes get sober.

The idea of Clerks 2 existed far before that. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was apparently originally supposed to be a direct sequel to Clerks.

And really, Smith wouldn't "throw together" a sequel to Clerks JUST BECAUSE he could bribe Mewes with a part in it. Mewes would have been in Jersey Girl if he was clean at the time, and he was later in Zack and Miri, so it doesn't really matter WHAT Smith does, Mewes could still get a part in it.

I should have phrased it better...

The idea of Clerks II has languished for years, even being called Clerks II; Passion of the Clerk as a joke, but Kevin Smith delayed filming the movie. He felt that Mewes' recreational drug use was hindering his performances so Smith made a bet with Mewes.

If Mewes could get completely clean, Smith would begin filming Clerks II. That is how Mewes fell back into Smith's' good graces for Clerks II & Zach and Miri.

This is what I understand the situation to be.

At the end of the credits in Dogma, it says "Jay and Silent Bob will return in Clerks II: Hardly Clerkin" But then as the project progressed (at the time believing that this would be the last "Askewniverse" film), rather than simply making it a sequel to Clerks, he went with the idea of making it more of a wrap up film acknowledging all of the movies that came before it.

You can take this with a grain of salt, but I heard this straight from Smith's mouth.

I went to the Wizard World Chicago comic convention on several occasions. Back in 1999 and 2000, I went specifically to meet Kevin Smith, get some authographs, see his Q&A panel, etc. (Also, a few years later, starting around 2003, I started going again for a few consecutive years up to and including 2006, because of the Masters of the Universe exclusives they were having each year, and I almost always went to the Kevin Smith panels on those occasions).

Back in 2000, after waiting forever in line to get him to sign my DVDs, I had basically asked him about what was going on with the next movie, because I had heard rumors that it wasn't going to be Clerks 2. And he said it's going to be more of an overall wrapping up of that whole universe.

I also think that either on one of the Evening with Kevin Smith DVDs, or at one of the Q&A panels I went to (honestly, after seeing all 3 DVDs and going to several panels, it's hard to keep straight what I heard from which source), after the Jay and Bob movie had been out for a while (but still a while before he actually made Clerks II), someone asked him what ever happened to Clerks II since it was mentioned at the end of Dogma, and he simply said it became Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

My understanding is that it was when he was working on the Clerks 10th anniversary DVD set that he started to "fall in love" with the characters from Clerks again, and actually wanted to go ahead and do a full fledged sequel (I believe this is mentioned in the extra features of either the Clerks X DVD, Clerks 2, and/or on one of the "Evening With" DVDs....). I also heard about him promising Mewes that he could play Jay again if he sobered up, so that was part of the deal. However, Kevin Smith did not go on to make Clerks II solely because of Mewes sobering up. It was a project that he wanted to do anyway.

I guess if it was delayed due to Mewes needing to Sober up first, that does make some sense. There was a good chunk of time between the Clerks X DVD coming out and Clerks 2 hitting theaters. Then again, if Kevin Smith has ever been anything, it's a procrastinator. He's had a lot of projects that he has said he is working on that seem to take forever to come to fruition, if they come to fruition at all.
