Maybe MSFT is keeping BRCM busy with their WinCE HD DVD prototype. Last edited by Neo65; 10-03-2007 at 03:18 PM. |

In regards to me, truth be told, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, so if anyone from American Zoetrope is reading this, I would appreciate some free eats at the best Italian restaurant on Columbus Ave. for my truthful postings on this matter. I am but a modest man whose ancestors most likely dined on Cioppino after a hard day’s work. P.S. Italian women in general predispose me to a life threatening cardiac arrhythmia which can only be controlled by the best bottle of wine in the house. ![]() |

Nobody seems much interested in BD+.
Apparently BD+ used on Day after Tomorrow is giving problems with the Samsung (not sure which model) and LG players. BD+ was in the spec from the beginning, was it not? So it should work on all players, and I assume LG and Samsung will issue firmware updates to correct it. My question is, how come Fox didn't check compatibility before creating the final version of the disk, and if they did, how come Samsung and LG didn't issue firmware updates BEFORE the disks hit the market? Or is there new firmware available for these already? BD has taken more than a few missteps along the way, and I don't see why this one couldn't have been avoided. Fox could have sent a sample disk to every BD manufacturer and asked them to check for compatibility. After all, there aren't THAT many players on the market. If Fox did do this, why wouldn't new firmware already be available? As I said, perhaps new firmware has been issued already, and not everyone has it, which would make this much ado about nothing, but that doesn't seem to be what I have read so far. I may be able to find to this issue at AVS, but I refuse to go look in their HD disk sections any more. By the way, welcome to Richard Paul. Hope you will post here frequently. I always enjoyed you taking on Amir, but I've given up on AVS. |

My guess would be that new firmware updates since then might have caused a problem since testing was done |

A hearty, hearty welcome to new member Richard Paul ![]() Sir Terrance……….. in regards to the Italian women thing, I suspect the predisposition came from watching too much Sophia Loren in dem old movies when I was but a wee young lad. In regards to P.R., been there (from San Juan to Ponce to Mayaguez), done that and I completely agree with your sentiments, the only difference is the medical complications to me are whole generalized, i.e. they give me fever. |

Thank you for the update. Also nice to see the ps3 plays the movies back ok even without any special firmware update. Of course, it did playback POTC fine (while the other players took forever to load).

Thank you paidgeek for the information. If the issues are not related to BD+, I think that is good news, since BD+ has been the source of much DRM revulsion.
