Ah..package days are always exciting. I usually can't concentrate in school. Too excited to get home and pop in a new movie.

I carefully take off the shrink wrap. Remove any unwanted outside stickers. Inspect the slipcover...it better be nice! Inspect the disks. Pop in the movie(s) and enjoy!

I also go crazy because I have to find a nice spot for it on my media shelf. I am running out of space! This holiday break I need to categorize my entire collection and figure out what to do with all my DVD's.

I have cold sweat all over by my body as I open the box with shaky fingers! My pupils are enourmous and I am jumping slightly on the spot! I get kinda shaky by the irregular beat of my heart and my vision is blurred! My nails are now bleeding because there simply is nothing left! As a nervous grin spreads on my face I can't help but think:

``This is it! THIS time the corners won't be broken off the covers!´´

Then I get disappointed and go order another stack off the internet...

Nah I enjoy getting new movies.. Don't really watch them right away though and I have cut down on my BD spendin´

I get out my drill and a hole cutter attachment, and make the hole in the center of the disc a little bigger, and then, well.... you know.

Every time I get a new blu-ray I punch an old lady in the face.

Followed by the rolling around with it (the disc, not the old lady) naked.

depends, most of my movies I buy when at work so I open them up and check them on the bus ride home. If not, then I do it once they are at home. Then 99.99% they get put on my "unwatched" shelf

any movie i get stays in it's wrapping for about 30 sec. before it's ripped open.

then depending on how badly i've been wanting to watch it, i may throw it in the ps3 right away.

I love the smell of fresh packaging/plastic.

The year was 1992 (I was 5), it was a simpler time where bottled water and more than 40 channels was an absurd idea for most people and my biggest worry was running out of halloween candy. I had just opened my NES box. The site of it and smell of it was overwhelming. It was my first possession outside of the lame toy realm and the sense of joy made me giddy.

I guess my brain automatically associates that smell with that great sense of joy. To this day I look forward to opening new electronics, dvds, etc. Nothing weird about that, unless your going doggy sniffing everything at your big box store.

Ah yes the opening of a new NES box. That is one of my fondest memories as a kid.

I've been getting SteelBook BD's lately, and when I get home....

1. I pick up the mail
2. Unlock the door / turn off alarm
3. I put the mail on the counter
4. I take a piss
5. I wash my hands
6. I open the box carefully
7. I inspect it
8. I'm happy
