Comparing the final price between the Sony combo set and LG set, the LG Im guessing will come up a bit cheaper. Like I mentioned I already have my PS3 to play movies and games. I'll check them out in store, but was wondering:

Does anyone know which set between the Sony KDL-40V5100 and LG 42LH50 has the better picture quality?

Generally Sony LCDs will be a tad bit better than LGs, but this year's line of Sony models are not anything to brag about. Color accuracy, tons of noise, and not the best black levels are a few of the downfalls.

If it were up to me, I'd save the money to get the LG and apply it elsewhere. Calibration, good line conditioner, etc.

If it were up to me though, I'd go plasma
