The ps2 is not yet 10 years old but it did this:
* One in every three US households own a PS2 system * 140 million people around the world own a PS2 * The SOCOM franchise has become one of the most played of all time, with over 530 million online hours logged since the debut of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs in 2002 equaling 60,000 years of online play * More than 500 million software units have been sold for PS2 in the US * More than 485 developers have developed for the platform since its launch * By the end of this fiscal year, nearly 10,000 titles in total will be available for the system source:Ernice Gilbert I still have the "fat" PS2 and still use it....SOTC anybody?? ![]() Last edited by AM-MAN; 11-16-2009 at 05:18 AM. |

And with the original X-box Microsoft was losing their shirt, and they couldn't do that with BOTH systems they were putting out so they dropped the older one. As for the PS2, it only makes sense since they dropped the BC in the PS3 {stupidly} to keep churning them out. Wasn't there a rumor that some company was working on an emulator for a BC PS3? Like a USB add-on or something? Logan |

My fat PS2 quit on me awhile back. I marched over to the store for a slim the day it stopped reading discs. I've over 100 PS2 games and still play them. I finished Silent Hill Origins yesterday and started Fatal Frame 2 right after. |

Even though I have the BC PS3, I still use my PS2 occasionally. I have the add-on LCD and take it on trips. There are still TONS of great games I haven't played and most can be picked up dirt cheap. A couple months back I picked up 10 games for $30. Finally got San Andreas.

I've thought about hunting down a clip-on LCD for my PS2 as well. Which one you got and how is it? |

PS2-GAMEGLASS.jpg It's the Game Glass unit. For what I paid, it is well worth it. It's a 7" LCD with a decent picture and so so sound. It's not great by any means but it gets the job done. I remember these being around $80 in Game Stop a couple years ago, don't think I would pay that. If you're considering it I'd try E-Bay or pick up a used one cheap like I did. |

I'm doing some in-game recording to produce sketch comedy and this screen would make the recording process a lot easier. |

I've still got my fat one. It works but the video cable has been worn out so the picture fades in and out. the internals are probabably worn out from all the times I've plugged it in.

Rob: I just found one I can get fairly cheaply. Before I do I've a quick ?: Does it have an AV-out on the back to connect it to another screen?
The compact PS1 screen had such a port on it. For my recordings, I put the screen on the system then use an AV cable to connect it to my DVD-Recorder. What I'd like is to set up a PS2 the same way. I tried connecting through the recorder first and my TV 2nd; that creates a lag between processing and visuals making action footage difficult or impossible to obtain. |
