Not sure the lady of the house will aprove either the stands or hanging speakes from ceiling.

I am seriously considering the Energy Veritas 2.0CM in ceiling bi/di speakers.

That would definitely be the cleanest way to go. They'll sound great too. Can't wait to see the final result!

Default Subwoofer?

Hello members. I am 24 years old and new to the HT world. Let me preface this post by stating that I have no clue what any of the specs on speakers mean. I am looking to add a subwoofer to my small bedroom. The room dimensions are 10x10x8.

Current Bedroom Set-up:
Energy C-50's, Energy C-C50, Denon AVR-790, Panasonic BD60, Xbox360

I’m looking to spend approx $250. $275 would be the max. I have gone through this forum to see what would be the best sub for my system. I have no idea what any of the specifications indicate. I use my system mainly to watch tv and Blu-ray, and occasionally I play my Xbox360. These are the subs that I need some help on deciding which would best suit me.

Energy ESW-V8 $225
http://www.wwstereo.com/website/ecom...product=ESW-V8

Energy S8.3 $199
http://www.sounddistributors.com/buy...nergy+Speakers

Energy ESW-10
http://www.sounddistributors.com/buy...nergy+Speakers

TSC ASW-10 $149.99
http://www.thespeakercompany.com/ASW...oofer-P62.aspx

Premier Acoustic PA-10W $199
http://www.homespeakersdirect.com/cl...d=272&offset=2

Which one would I get best for the budget I have?

First of all welcome to the community.
Most of the choices you're showing here are quite interesting for you, in your case I'd go with a good 8 and both ESW-V8 and S8.3 are great honestly but the best bang for the buck is certaily the ESW-V8.

It offers an even better performance than the S8.3. My S10.3 is impressive but ask CPT_Dylan, pm him and you'll see what he'll tell ya on his ESW-V10.

V Series is the top of the line energy you can get followed by the S series. Both of them would not disapoint you.

The PA is a good choice too.

of the ones listed I would get the esw-v8, that gives you good wattage and about the lowest frequency response.

Otherwise get the Premeir Acoustics PA-120 12" sub, for about $229 shipped.

Just wanted to update everyone: I've received the Veritas. I connected them as side surrounds in my temporary setup in the family room, and tested with August Rush, esp. the scene when Evan Taylor came to New York for the first time.

These are very detaield and revealing speakers, and they are amazing in presenting the excellent sound mix in that scene: the hustling and bustling on the streets, the subway trian, a coupe of bicylce ring bells, roller skates on pavement, a plastic bag being blown into the air, ... and the background music.

Althought it may be a crime to use them as surrounds, esp. backs, for the current price, they are great bargains if placement options of cabinet speakers are limited.

Thanks.

callas01,

What's going on man? Just FYI, my profile name changed to MaCruz.

macruz19 Energy C100 Fronts C-C50 Center.

I'm waiting patiently to get my C200 next month so I can put them in the front, and move my C100 to the rear.

The v8 for sure is a great 8 inch sub. I own one and use it in my computer setup, which is in a bedroom. It also worked well in a mid sized living room. It outperforms many 10 inch subs, and not neccessarily just the cheap ones.

With that said, there was previously sales on the ESW v10 for $299 USD. I don't know which country you live in, but if you're American and you can get the v10 for a total of $299 I would go for it. It will last you a long time, and you won't feel the need as much to upgrade your sub, even when/if you upgrade your speakers, unless you move it into a really huge and open living room.

My advice, and like I said I have both the v8 and the v10, is to try to save an extra $70 and see if you can get a killer deal on the ESW v10. NOT the ESW 10 so we are clear, the "V" 10.

You're welcome! Keep us posted on what your final decision will be but as Cpt said you may want to consider the ESW-V10.

Hello,

I am from Edmonton, AB and I am unable to find anywhere in-store or online to purchase the Take Classic 5 pack system. If you could suggest a retailer that would ship to me, or inform me on how I can purchase this setup through your company, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi kaybee81, the Take Classic is now a special order item in Canada. The Energy RC Micro System is where more focus seems to be.It should be
