I believe to have one dvd out at time with unlimited rentals per month its 8.99 and 10.99 for blu-ray

2 out at time unlimited per month 10.99 for dvd 13.99 for blu-ray
3 out at time unlimited per month 16.99 for dvd 20.99 for blu-ray

When you sign up to have blu-ray as your default rental preference you can still rent regular dvds, its just when you choose a movie available in both formats your account will default to the blu-ray unless you choose otherwise, but you can still pick regular dvds.

I think if you choose to have dvds as your default rental preference, in order to rent blu-rays, I believe you have to change your account plan to do that.
