If you write down the SKUs johnny posted and take them to Best Buy they can tell you if they have them and how many are on order... It's not 100% accurate but it will give you some sort of idea...

I plan to get one of each of the USA Best Buy releases. I hope they are all in stock next Tuesday. I would love to see the Best Buy ad for next week just to see if these are being advertised.

So... you think I should get excited?

I pray that BB will sell these Disney Steels. It would make everything a lot easier.

Jammin saw 15 copies of Wall-E at his Best Buy so there's a chance these will not end up being sold out immediately...

My area isn't that bad - most people in my town won't know a thing - and I'm pretty sure these won't even be on the floor when I get there. I'll have to ask.

LOL!! I'll go during lunch since it's less than a mile away from my office park. I don't think they will sell out at my store on day 1.

I was going to call BB CS, about a status on my order and mention about the Disney Steels, and there's already a 20 min wait time and it's not even 9:00AM EST. Holiday shopping is well under way.

9650955 Monsters Inc.
9650946 Nightmare Before Christmas
9650946 Pinocchio
9650991 Ratatouille
9650937 Sleeping Beauty
9650982 Wall-E

All of these have a $34.99 price tag on them. Not sure if there will be a sale price on these. These according to the RSS screen will all be released on Dec 8th. I didn't see any SKU's for any of the Pirate movies, so not sure if they will be available same day or at a later date.

Also I asked a manager if they would price match Futureshop on these and she told me if it is the same product they would but YMMV.
What is the correct sku for NBC or Pinocchio? You have the same sku listed for both.

Also, when was this on RSS? I subscribe to the BB RSS and never saw any of this.

Well, this move will destroy any hopes of these Steelbooks having value and will knock them down to James Bond status most likely. Looking at the pictures of the two Pirates SB that claim to be US versions, they have an identical UPC to the FS exclusive versions. If the same is true for the others, it will mean they will be identical to the FS copies (French FS copies have a unique UPC, so they may still hold some value).

The FS copies were rumored to be limited to 1500, so if US Best Buys only got 5 per store, there are roughly 1000 stores, so that is another 5000 copies. That would mean 6500 copies. Plus some areas (metro) obviously get more than 5 per store (reports of 15 already). Even if that is just in 100 stores, it would mean another 1000 copies, putting the total to 7500 copies.

I think Bonds were in the 10,000-15,000 range, and you practically have to give those away if you want to resell them now. A US release of the Disney's would mean at least 7500 copies, with possibly higher numbers if stores end up getting more than 5 copies. If each store got 10, you would be around 12,000 copies, which puts you right there with the Bonds.

So how many fellow Canadians feel seriously duped by FS on this?

+1000000 (and a whole lot more zeros)

If the "truth" was presented straight away, I would have still bought them all, but I think that it would have been a lot less stressful and there would have been way less ranting at FS when things didn't go perfectly.

They lost a lot of my respect (not that there was tons to begin with )

Cheers

I feel the same... I still would have bought them... but if I had known they would become easily available in the aftermarket then I would not have put so much effort and stress into finding them.

And all this time I thought FS was providing us with a rare and special opportunity.

No longer is this about FS being altruistic. Now it appears to be a matter of BestBuy and Disney wanting to ream out as many sales as possible.
