Default Walmart: $50 gift card with purchase of Nintendo Wii (Dec. 5-12)

From Kotaku:
Quote:
From December 5th through the 12th, the company will be offering a $50 gift card good for anything Walmart carries (just about everything) with purchase of a Nintendo Wii.

Along with the Wii offer, Walmart is also discounting a group of popular 2009 titles by $10 until December 24th. Titles like Batman: Arkham Asylum and Left 4 Dead 2 for the Xbox 360, or Tekken 6 for the 360 and PS3. You know what? I'll just drop you all a list. Happy shopping.

Lego Rock Band (Wii) - now $40
Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympics (Wii) - now $40
MySims: Agents (Wii) - now $40
Rock Band: Beatles (Wii) - now $40
WWE 2010 (Wii) - now $40

Madden 2010 (Xbox 360 and PS3) - now $50
Tekken 6 (Xbox 360 and PS3) - now $50

Dragon Age: Origins (PS3) - now $50
Uncharted 2 (PS3) - now $50

Batman Arkham Asylum (Xbox 360) - now $50
Halo 3:ODST (Xbox 360) - now $50
Left 4 Dead 2 (Xbox 360) - now $50
WWE 2010 (Xbox 360) - now $50
The Walmart near me has discounted some of the listed software titles, so that much I can confirm. The only question I need to ask myself now is: should I take the plunge?

Default (12/6 - 12/12) Wal-Mart: $50 Gift Card w/ Nintendo Wii Purchase

I had been holding off on buying a Nintendo Wii, but I may just pull the trigger this week, as Wal-Mart is giving a $50 gift card with purchase. They also have 12-month no interest financing for purchases over $299; shouldn't be too hard given the Wii is $200.

Edit: Didn't realize the deal started next week.

I think the add stated 'minimum 4 per store' or something like that. Definitely a great deal if you want a Wii, but you better get to the store early and wait in line (I did this a couple weeks ago for an XBOX 360 +$100 gift card deal). I was able to get in on the Wii + Wii Fit Plus on Amazon a while back where they gave you a $50 Amazon credit. Saved me standing in line...

Cool

The $50 walmart gift card is only good for in store purchases??? Bing shows any purchase thru them linked to walmart gets 15% cashback. Any online purchase with walmart.

Yes, specials like this are in-store only with limited quantities available. It limits their exposure to these loss-leader type sales.

I remember that deal, and the line was HUGE that morning! I went for an XBox360 and left when I saw the line. I was really surprised at the turnout, especially given it was the morning of a local college football game (which is a huge deal here).

Even more surprising though, is that I do not think this applies to the Wii scenario. I have been seeing Wiis scattered everywhere: Best Buy, Target, and I just called Wal-Mart and the guy in the entertainment dept said he can see at least 20 on the floor and that there are over 20 in the back (!). I think that is because everyone who has been wanting a Wii already has one by now.

Oh shoot! I just realized that this ad is for next week (12/6-12/12). YIKES! Sorry guys! I don't get the newspaper, but where I live, I get select ads each week in the mail. I just assumed it was for the current week.

I took a pic of the ad:

Not sure if this one will require a lineup as previous poster had suggested, as it is a weeklong ad, but who knows?

For those that don't want to shop at Walmart (for whatever reason) to take advantage of this deal, do a price match at Best Buy. Bring a printout of their price matching policy (along with Walmart's flyer) to obtain a $50 BB gift card instead of one through Walmart.

From BB's website:
Quote:
How do you handle a price match if an instant gift card is included with a purchase?

The value of an instant gift card with purchase will be considered when calculating a price match. If the combined value of a competitor's product and instant gift card is lower than the combined value of Best Buy's product price and instant gift card, Best Buy will match either the price or the instant gift card value, depending on the offer.
This is what I did a few months ago when I purchased an Xbox 360 Elite. Micro Center was offering a $50 gift card with every 360 purchase, so I brought in the flyer and the offer was matched (with help from a store manager).

If the print out isnt available now....When it is can someone post it...sometimes i dont get certain sales papers in the mail.....

a sales person at best buy told me...if i wanted to price match something and didnt have the ad...i could just take a picture of it with my cell phone and show them and they would honor it....lol i dunno about that..i will try it tho

Be nice to take a picture of a deal on amazon and just go up to best buy and show them to get that deal...

just be aware that they don't have to give you the pricing when you go in to ask for it (and won't if they are familiar with their policy)

Also From BB's website:

Quote:
What if the competitor does not have the item in stock or has limited quantities of the product?
Sometimes a retailer will advertise a very low price for a product but have only limited quantities in stock. If the item is out of stock or the competitor has limited quantities of an item, it is not eligible for price matching. Likewise, if Best Buy has a product that is advertised as being limited in quantity it will not be eligible for price matching.
and since per the Walmart ad this is limited to 10 per store it's not eligible so they don't have to price match it.

Default Nintendo Wii @ $150

Sort of: Starting this Saturday, while supplies last, Walmart will start selling the the Wii for $199, but will throw in a $50 gift card. This may be available online where you can use it with a Bing CashBack ...

Best case scenario is getting the Wii online for $171 + shipping after 20% bing cashback and you'll have a $50 gift card!!
