Check out the GameTrailers version of the intro cutscene, I think it looks a LOT better.

Elena's belt isn't glitchy, the 'camera' work shows off the environment better, it's missing the UGLY self shadowing - the lighting's more understated - less garish, textures look simpler in some places, more detailed in others but always sharper, more artistic and the sea brightens and froths up closer to the shore. I made some comparison shots:

GameVideos (worse)

GameTrailers (better)

Just looking at these some may prefer the GameVideos version lighting and textures but in motion at 720p the GameTrailers version looks a lot more polished. I hope Naughty Dog agree and it's the more recent build!

Actually, after the GameVideos cutscene, the gameplay graphics have a mixture of the best elements from both versions of the cutscene except the sea shallow and froth detail is missing:

GameTrailers (cutscene)

GameVideos (cutscene)

GameVideos (gameplay)

GameVideos (gameplay)

Strange mix-and-match!

Hey guys new to the forums here so I thought of no better place than talking about games since I come from the Gamespot forums. But back to the game, I will be getting Drake's Fortune the day it comes out

So what type of game is this going to be? Do we have a Tomb Raider meets Gears of War type of game? To anyone who knows: Are there Prince of Persia type climbing to do in this game or not really? Is it mostly just shooting? Or are there puzzles to solve such as opening doors and figuring out where to climb? I'm trying to decide if I want to buy this game but I'm scared it's just one big shoot em' up. (Cause that's all the gameplay videos show.)

Outside the local Frys' last nigt (San Diego) there was a large PlayStation 3 tractor trailer. PS3s and PSPs set up for anyone to play. Large screen XBR LCD sets were the display...

...and on a couple stations you could play "Drake's Fortune"!

Looked great! Very 3-D and the color almost looked oversaturated. Unfortunately there was already a few people playing it and I didn't have time.

You are pretty much correct. I think, according to some of the videos in this thread, that there will be a bit of puzzle solving, but they arent trying to go overthetop. Trying to keep more 'reality based'. So you wont be pulling around any large blocks or boulders like Lara would in Tomb Raider. But overall they are trying to go their own style with a nice mixture of everything.

I was wondering that myself: "They're playing it here...was the demo released?"

Maybe next Friday?

The more I see for this game the more I want it. I think when they release the demo it will seal the deal for me buying it.

this game reminds me of a mixture of Pitfall and Flashback.

Some new screens:

The game is about to go gold, so the build you're seeing in these latest screens are more than likely to resemble the actual game.

Next buy for me.
