Days should be up tonight. It's about ready now, just taking a break from working on the pics and deciding what's worth using. Don't expect much from it in video though. Remember most of the film was shot on low grade PAL video. Only the end was shot on film, and as a result the end is the only part that looks HD despite a terrific job by Fox, in authoring the disc.

I'm sure Weeks will look much better.

Don't worry, I try to avoid plot spoilers with any new release film even in the movie portion of the reviews.

Don't tell us about the plot. Just how it ends. Happily ever after?

Tell us how it ends, so I can save $55 on the pair.

I had 28 Weeks Later in-hand at the Circuit City in Tuscaloosa, but the register
wouldn't let it scan out. Ticked me off 'cause I thought I might actually get it
early. So I ended up with Halloween, Dawn of the Dead, Evil Dead 2, and FF2.

Damm so close I would have been sad haha. But then again for them its good that the system does block a street date from being sold.

As I always do before upgrading, I popped in the DVD version and it looked pretty bad because of the way it was made. Not knocking the movie or the quality, because it is what it is. Therefore I decided not to upgrade this one, especially given the price point. I may do so if it ever gets to the $15 range or so, just to have both movies on Blu and for the DTS-MA sound (if the PS3 ever gets the update to decode it). As it stands now, it sounds as if that unless this is one of your favorite films, it's not worth a purchase if you already have the DVD. Just my .02 of course.

I will be getting 28 Weeks later on Tuesday, however. Missed it in theaters and cannot wait!

I'm scared of reviews for 28 Days Later. I see a repeat of all the reviews of the Miami Vice HD-DVD. I predict people will rip it to shreds over PQ, completely ignoring the fact that it looked the exact same way in the theater due to the way it was shot and what it was shot on.

In the case of Miami Vice, people started swearing it looked TONS better when they saw it in the theater, but hey, maybe Michael Mann shot a second version of the same movie on 35mm film and leaked it out to a few theaters.

I've got no beef with people who forgo the upgrade due to the almost guaranteed lack of a major improvement of PQ, but I will be seeing red as soon as I see the inevitable reviews picking it apart on the PQ side.

Have both on pre-order since they were available from Amazon. However I chose 2 day shipping (free w/prime). I decided to change that to 1 day shipping because of The Day After Tomorrow issue where it did NOT arrive on release day. I did not like that.

So I wanted to make sure these get here on releae date.

Weeks was absolutely amazing. a pick up for sure.... PQ will probably be a little grainy seeing as it was like that in a DLP theater. Review any time soon?
