My first and only view of this so far was underwhelmed completely, I thought it would be some kind of Independence Day / Men In Black style movie, yet it was something completely different, something I didn't quite understand, perhaps it's an aquired taste.

Did I take this too seriously when I first watched it, do you need to watch it with more of an open mind?

I never would have thought about ever owning this on blu-ray but if somebody can change my mind I would like to hear the reason.

District 9 isn't disposable crap, unlike the two films you mention.

I expected somebody to say something like that.

My point being I had no idea what to expect and felt the trailer was completely misleading, granted I did think it was original, but maybe just not for me.

I didn't mean to offend one of your favourite movies, it's an opinion.
