Great TV movie. It eventually became "The Waltons" TV show, but several of the cast are different, and the tone is much less sugary. A wonderful Christmas movie.

I'll do something new:
Not just the box art, but the complete movie of the underrated Carroll Ballard/Maurice Sendak "Nutcracker: the Motion Picture", which pretty much disappeared off the face of the earth after VHS, before resurfacing on Hulu/streaming.

(Yep, pure, creepy uncut Sendak...No group-therapy Spike Jonze huggies here.

)

I'd also include "Curse of the Cat People" as underrated holiday viewing (just because I can't hear "Il Est Ne', Le Divin Enfant" without picturing ghostly Simone Simon in her snow-cape), but...Hulu didn't have that one.

This movie was by far, one of the best Christmas movies ever. It is the most detailed, and the scene in the mall was classic.

I hope I can catch this on Lifetime soon. It will be as good as always.

Someone on the first page mentioned it, but I'd go with Jingle All The Way. I don't know if it's underrated, or just so bad that it's good, but I can watch it over and over.

I mean what other movie's back cover starts with:
"It turns out that Santa Claus (WWE Superstar Bill Goldberg) is not really the sweet old fellow that we all know and love. In fact, he's the devil"

That movie was horrible. It wasn't even in the so bad it's good catagory...

Gotta throw this one out there too... people seem to forget it's kinda a Christmas movie...

Also.... Mickey's Christmas Carol... man, I LOVE that old animation. Was super hard to find on DVD a few years back.
