Default Polygon's Home Theater

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new here. I thought I'd post up my current home theater. It's about to get a pretty decent change. It's also the reason I ended up registering here as I'm building an HTPC with a BD Drive. I'm currently using my X-Box 360 to stream from my main computer and I'm still using a CRT that's not even capable of progressive scan.

I have a new TV ready to go in, HD sat receiver, and all the parts for the HTPC except the HDD and the OS.

Anyhow, here are the pictures of how it is right now.

I'll post up some after pics when I get all the new stuff in.

Nice Start,Indeed,Polygon.
Love the large number of gaming consoles(Including my Favorite the GameCube).

Your Speakers are already exceptional choices.Inbetween the Polk TSi-300's and the Wharfedale Center and Surrounds.
Add a Sweet Dayton Sub(And I cant say enough for the quality Dayton puts into their Subs and Drivers).

The AV Rack and TV Rack look great in the set-up with a futuristic look. And the stand you are using for your gaming consoles is A Nice Looking Piece Also.

I look forward to seeing how things turn out when you make this next set of additions. But So Far,So Good.

Thanks!

I just bought the Polks this year. They replaced some really old DBX Soundfield Vs. They were huge and loud but not much clarity. I heard these at a Best Buy of all places and for the price they're phenomenal speakers. The Wharfedales are the same. So inexpensive but they sound great as does they Dayton sub. I've never head bass as accurate from any $100 sub before.

I have people come over and think I spend a lot on this rig. I laugh and love to tell them how much I really spent. The looks are priceless.

I like the stands that I have but I they have one problem. With the new TV I can't put the center on top anymore so it's going to have to go where the NES is. The NES will have to move somewhere else and at least three of the models are going to have to move. I'm still not sure how I'm going to set everything back up. The video game rack just need one more shelf. I'm sure I'll figure it out plus I'll get a chance to rewire and do some better cable management.

LOL, yeah, I'm a gamer.

Sadly, I don't play as much as I used to.

Thank you!

I ended up going with the Samsung LN40B550 40" 1080p LCD. Also got it at Best Buy out the door for $800. I was going to get a 120Hz set but all the 120Hz sets looked like crap compared to the 60Hz set under fast motion, at least on the 40" panels. The artifacting was just so bad.

Hey Polygon,

I love it that you still have all the consoles-makes me realize how old I really am because I had all of the at one time... Great job sir!

Now I'm hit with a serious case of nostalgia

Like everyone said...nice start. You said you have a tv and such picked out. When do expect to get those? Hey Rhett your old. You shouldn't be just realizing it. Quit with your denial.

I actually have pretty much everything but a couple of things. I upgraded my main computer so I'm using the system board, processor, memory, heatsink/fan, and main hard drive in the HTPC and just had to buy the rest. Now I'm just waiting for the O/S, new hard drive, and cables from Monoprice. Here's what I do have so far.

Samsung LN40B550 40" LCD:

Main computer update:

MSI P55-GD80 LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX.

Intel Core i7-860 Lynnfield 2.8GHz LGA 1156.

Mushkin Blackline 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 7-7-7-20.

ZALMAN CNPS9900 NT 120mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler.

HTPC:

Zalman HD503:

XFX HD-435X-YAH2 Radeon HD 4350 512MB 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready.

CORSAIR CMPSU-450VX 450W.

PLEXTOR Black BD Combo SATA.

Turtle Beach RIVIERA 5.1 Channels PCI.

GELID Solutions FN-FW08-20-B 80mm.

GELID Solutions FN-FW12-15-B 120mm.

DirectTV H23 HDTV Receiver.

Now it's a matter of finding the time. I'm pretty bust with work right now and I'm working on one of my cars in my spare time but it's almost done. I have to work up until the 24th and then I'm off until the 4th so I think I'm going to do it all then.

Don't feel bad, we're not old. I'll be 29 this weekend and I don't feel old. Hell, I still look like I'm 24 so that always make me feel better.

Nice consoles!

I had an Intellivision II growing up (it's at my brother's house right now...). Oh the memories, Night Stalker anyone?

I love all my video games. It's sucks I don't have the time to play as often as I like anymore. Since I have a three day weekend I'll have to sit down a play one of my old systems.

All my old is in the closet.

I still have my nintendo64 & Doctor V64

This is not my pix..

I two DreamCast, one of them is an Import and the other is a regular, I even have the Dreamcast import guns, which were far better then the domestic guns.

Have a couple Playstations with Mod chips and about 200 copied games, I never got around to playing.
