It depends on how much you buy. I have not been buying as much as i have in the past. Over the last 3 months, I have cancelled most of my orders from Amazon because I was able to get them as cheap or cheaper at a local store. The only two that I didn't cancel were because I used gift cards codes for Amazon from a rewards program which made Amazon the obvious choice since they were TV series seasons. I had Prime in the past and while I miss the 2 day delivery, I don't miss paying the $79. Breaking it down, I would have to place 26 orders to break even (that is assuming I would have to pay the standard shipping). I don't see that happening especially since they can't accept coupons, making the Disney and other movies less expensive to buy locally.

I did not renew my Prime when it ran out. I use the Free Super Saver shipping method, and my packages have been arriving from KT (to OH) within 2-3 business days. I think I only had one package, out of about a dozen so far, take 5 days to get to me. That was shipped from IA though.

Remember no minimum order though! That's the other reason I love it. Like if one movie you want is on sale for under $25 and you really want it. Two day shipping for free!

That is the main reason I want it. Don't like trying to spend $25 at a time. Last edited by Mors; 12-14-2009 at 06:51 PM. |

I'm enjoying my free trial. I have a week left. It's great but only if you order from Amazon a lot. I'll be broke after the new year lol so I won't need it anymore. Later on down the road I'll definitely do it. A shame it doesn't apply to the marketplace.

Anyway. How many times does Amazon allow you to sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime? I had done it once over a year ago and then went with the membership. I let it expire, but that was over a year ago. I ordered something last night for a Christmas present and wanted to make sure I got it in plenty of time, so I clicked on the free trial offer again. It let me have a free trial for a second time. I thought they would only let you do it once. I made sure I went in and clicked the do not auto renew button so that I won't be charged the $79. |

for myself, the way i see it is:
1: shipping to my door, saves me a trip to the store. 2: amazon has been having a lot of really good sales on new releases lately, so that's more incentive to buy from them. 3: free 2 day shipping, yeah you can get free shipping on orders of $25 or more, but that's with 5-9 day shipping. i'm not a patient person, if there's movie i want to see, i don't want to have to wait. between the money you save on the sale prices and what you would pay normally if you select 2 day shipping, you'll make your money back over the course of the year....esp. if you buy a couple new releases every month. |
