Default Taking Woodstock Discussion

Got this film today via Netflix. Visually this film is spectacular. The audio is also excellent. Now the film (directed by Ang Lee) was pretty cool as well.. this is a film I would recommend to others for sure. It was an interesting story that went along quite nicely. Be warned though I see lots of places listing this as a comedy, it is much more of a Drama. Finally Ang Lee has made a film I enjoy!

You mean those six or seven tragedies he made in a row didn't do much for you?

Ang lee is a great director, I liked that gay movie he made... you know, where Eric Bana played the green muscular guy who had daddy issues

lol... yeah Hulk sucked... and listening to Ang's commentary on it was even worse... Brokeback is a film I could not get into, but do plan to re visit... and then Crouching Tiger/Hidden Dragon did NOTHING for me

"Taking Woodstock" bored me. One, Dmitiri Martin was a wasted talent. Secondly, so many pointless angles were played up (gay, hippie, Jewish) that it took away from the "experience", whatever that was supposed to be. More or less a half baked movie about what happened before Woodstock, which really isn't that intriguing, IMO.

ha yeah Lee's comentary is one of the worst, It's like sitting through a two hour reading of a chinese food menu

Brokeback was a good movie though, that should have been Ledger's first academy award
