i am new to blu-ray and the site, and i have to say, this is one of my favorite threads. although i am just slowly catching up on all the recent happenings over the past few weeks, i just hope that all the great artists here keep up the amazing work they are doing. the work i have seen here is truly mind-boggling.

i have a few items that i would love to move to multi-disc cases and before i stumbled to the fourm and this thread, i never would have thought the cases were around (although some harder to find than others it seems) or such great artwork could be found.

just wanted to say thanks!

Hi guys, I don't have a printer with the capability of printing out one of these art covers; anyone know of anyone that offers a service to print and ship these out? I'm not to sure where I could get it done here in Vancouver.

An updated version of my Banquet cover. I've pretty much finalized it.

Here is a TDK cover I'm working on folks. I saw someone post the poster of this image in the thread and it just started the ideas rollin'. Lemme know what you think. I've got quite a bit to work on, so chances are that whatever discrepancies you find, I've already fixed them. Such as the yellow synopsis and missing logos on the back.

Read the first post, link to printing blu-ray custom covers thread. I believe it gives general advice and states that he personally uses Fedex/Kinkos or a similar store.

Don't know how to do it but the best advice I could give is find a way to may the text more readable on the back and the front. Its mainly the white text, the spine text and the title. The yellow paragraph is perfectly readable.

Like I said, I don't know how to do it but it just seems like the text needs to be a little more separated from the cover art image so that it is easily noticed (front title and spine) and easily read.

The yellow text paragraph just kind of sits there. Maybe you could make it flow a little more with the other stuff on the back, maybe you still have stuff to add.

Hope that was along the lines of the comments you were looking for, didn't really look for errors in the actual text.

as for losing bpm, folks I hope it has already hit you what the level of distrust can do to this thread. For many artists such as bpm, dv8, craig, and myself it is very hard to deal with theft in this thread, where we share our covers with a public thread and get burned because one individual decides it's in the "best interest" to redistribute works without permission. Of course, you can go ahead and say that it was bound to happen eventually, but it's truly amazing that certain individuals believe it's their right to do what they want with the covers they download. It leaves the artist with an incredible sense of insecurity of which they shouldn't have to face.

We're losing a great artist. bpm please look into this thread every once in a while and don't give up hope. I believe that with the recent events we've established a good system where trusted individuals are given covers after providing e-mail and pm to artists, however it is going to take some work. I think the debacle of late has shaken the foundation of this beautiful thread and it is certainly and without a doubt up to the viewers of this thread to reestablish the much needed trust.

I don't know about the other artists in this thread, but I will be adopting the same discretionary system that bpm set into place before his departure (God willing he comes back). I will not distribute my covers via pm unless the request comes from members of 6 months or later and who have been contributor's or members of this thread, of which I have seen your name in the posts.

Thank you,

aggienader08

Edit: In regards to the almighty **MODS**, why did you delete bpmford's thread? Very unreasonable and disrespectful. Please let me ask you a question, what do you think would be the response in these forums if you deleted this thread?...Not good! That's all I have to say.

Yeah it sucks to lose BPM, but I have tussled with the moderators here before and that is why I predicted his thread's demise not because I wanted it deleted. Hopefully he will cool down a little and come back to us. We can only hope. I had a few custom orders in with him . Damn mods are going to ruin my nephews' xmas gifts.

Here is what I can do to help:
  • Create an elite artists section in original post.
  • Containing link to artists web space for low res custom cover displays
  • Stating to PM the artists for any requests of these finished covers
  • Containing a link to each artists policy for PM requests, this policy should cover the status of a member (active, 6 months, etc etc) as well as what needs to be in the PM, the title of the PM so that all requests are somewhat matching, and if multiple requests can go in a single PM or if there is a limit you wish to set up

This section is for those artists that maintain their own website with low res images of finished custom covers for others to look at. I know BPM would qualify as one of these people.

A few of the elite artists here (something with more than a few covers to display) maintain their own websites with lower res images of all finished custom covers. I am willing to start an Elite Artists section on the first page, with link to that site that has albums of low res versions of the covers for others to browse through, and a clear statement that a PM is needed to

Tell me if you guys are interested and if anyone besides BPM would even qualify for this section.

Especially since I only have barely 1/3 of it documented. I would be PISSED. Although, I do have all of the posts at the top of this thread backed up as Google documents.

Ok, Im going to give this one more try, Some may remember me from before an as stated by other great cover artists of the site i left for same reasons they did.

I did feel more confident to come back as some of the original artists were starting to return, I have been checking this thread every time i am online so i have never missed a post since i left. Still some amazing work happening from the original artists and i have seen some really good stuff coming from some of the new members! I have of course also seen what has just happened to bmp and it absolutely sucks (and thats putting it lightly) I really hope you will consider returning, That decision of course lies truly with yourself (That is if you are still reading this topic )

Now i will be doing it the same way as the other artists are, You can request the full version via PM, again you have to be registered for at least 6 months or be active and contributing (sorry to those under this but its just the damn cover stealers ruining it for everyone again) or i must either know you through past experience on this site

So onto a more happier note, The first cover i am going to post is for A Christmas Carol (2009 CGI Remake)

This is the final version so i will not be changing anything on it except updating it with the official bonus features and specifications when they are announced

I also understand BMP's pain but i also understand it from the mods piont of view here. If they let BMP open his own thread it'll mean other artists will want there own threads aswell, which will lead to chaos with new threads for covers rather than keeping em in a single topic.

That said and done here's an update on The Wolfman
Agree. As a mod at another site, I get their rationale. But, would I have given bmp and guys like him a pass due to their large volume of covers they showcase and share with BR.com members via pm? Absolutely. Custom covers is a big-time topic. Simply look at the thread numbers, this site gets lots of welcome activity because of it.

Slick Wolfman cover my friend Demonology! An early start on this one? Looking forward to seeing more of it.

Here's a rare showcase of mine. pm me. I have certain stipulations

Too bad about losing BPM, his work is a work of art, a genius. Loved all his covers and use them on a lot of my blurays.

Peace brother and good luck.
