Obviously there are a lot less extensions than FF, but it is still in beta, and they do seem better programmed than the vast majority of FF extensions.

I was talking with a developer from Myspace a while back, and he pointed out that the reason Google likes to keep things is beta pretty much forever is because it eases their liability in the event their software malfunctions. Like, if a beta app crashes and deletes all your associated data, well, "it was just a beta." I think that's pretty brilliant (and sketchy) of them, but I don't really mind, since Google's stuff is usually high-quality and free.
