CHEERS!!!
I have a western digial 250gb scorpio paid about 200 after tax, fit prefect, runs quite, PS3 fan seams to come on less, and it runs flawlessly, I also run 2 western digial external hdd's a 500gb usb drive and a new 1tb western digial external hdd. I tried the eSATA route but it kept crashing, I haven't given up on eSATA but I need to figure out why it was always locking up.

I think the download is tied to the individual PS3 and not the user. So if you have four other PS3s, you can download the game there.

What do you use to connect the eSATA cable to the PS3? The Xtender or a female-male cable? Odd that the eSATA cable keep crashing.

If it was tied to the PS3, you couldn't take your account to another PS3 and redownload the game there. Warhawk is the one exception so far.

So I can download the game as many times as I want as long as my PSN ID is linked to a console?

Then if I upgrade my HDD I can just back up my game saves to a flash drive (which I do have) and just re-download my games? Thats kosher?

Per account per paid game 5 downloads from the PSN, unlimited copies via external mass media drive backup.

I haven't tried downloading a paid game 5 times from the PSN to see if the icon returns to the main store so you can buy it for another 5 downloads.

I was using the PS3 HDXT Xtender, the cable I used is External " L type " to " I type " eSATA cable which I connected to my western digial 500gb hdd with I type eSATA connection. I noticed that when looking at the Xmedia bar the background waving line was notably faster than normal. Drive rpm might have been a problem, or the data transfer rate of 3gb per/sec I thought that the PS3's hdd controller would handle access issues.

Drive RPM can't be a problem, as others have tested 2.5" drives with 7200 against 5200. A recent test said that the two drives have negligible heat issues. So speed can't be the problem. Have you tried to ask HDXT's tech support about it?
