Thanks for this highly informative thread.
I haven't liked any of Disney's cover art for the blu-rays except for Monster's Inc and Sleeping Beauty. I always feel like they have too much going on in them, and the characters always appear way off model. But in the end, it's the presentation of the movie that counts, and they deliver on that in spades...so I will continue to enjoy them regardless of the cover art. Snow White's cover art was the worst. The 2-disc DVD is simple and elegant. I wish that they had used that one instead.

I like the Snow White cover art, but then, we got the version with Snow White in the centre in the UK - although, I would have just had the Queen or the Hag on the cover, not both.

I think Pinocchio was fine too.

Curious to see what they do with Beauty and the Beast, as it's my favourite.

It needs to be simple, just Belle and the Beast, and the rose would suit me fine. But I can imagine they will try and fit in the enchanted objects too.

Maybe like the French collector's edition?

No it's not, it's just a custom cover made by someone at UltimateDisney.com.

Yes, that was fan made art. Hoping it's going to be something like the old Platinum release, I can't see them doing anything like the French cover art, which is too dark to my mind.

If you look at that fan made art - Belle is a little off model, her face is too angular. Belle would be almost certain to be depicted in her yellow ball gown, which is how she is most well remembered by people (even though she doesn't actually appear in that outfit for the majority of the film). The film won't be in 3D because the 3D version has been pushed back in cinemas. And it doesn't include the rose motif, which is a major part of the film and is almost always used in publicity and marketing for Beauty and the Beast. And it's a Diamond Edition, not Platinum Edition.

Sorry if it'd been said, but the placeholders on Amazon.co.uk for Toy Story and Toy Story 2 are up.

So the UK'll be getting the Blu-ray + DVD combi pack versions, just like the US.

I think you can take it as a given that we'll be getting the Blu Ray / DVD combi packs for all the big releases now.

I'd be very surprised at March, it already seems to be a rather packed month.

Thought people might be interested in this.

Not Blu Ray related at all, but I'm setting up a Disney website to support my own forum.

It's mainly set around my photography at Disneyland Paris at the moment, but I do see it expanding eventually to feature some editorial content which will include Blu Ray news and reviews.

It's the first attempt I've ever had at doing a website so it's fairly primitive at the moment, but it will improve. Many of the links don't work yet, or they link back to threads on my forum, but again, this will change as I develop it more.

Virtually all of the photography and photo editing on there is my own work. I've very occassionally borrowed other people's photo's, although I think the only one on there at the moment that's borrowed is the photo of Belle on the blog page.

There seems to be a bit more respect and sanity in this thread than in the Beauty and the Beast discussion on the US boards.

Linked to the Fantasia trailer on my website now.
