It is perfectly ok for hot women to touch your subwoofer. You should get upset only when pets or men touch your subwoofer and do damage.

You can buy grille pins and pegs from the following sources.

This thread is massive, so does anyone happen to know the diameter of the opening of the HD-12"? I want to avoid having to open it up if someone already knows the answer. I am looking to upgrade the 12" driver and would appreciate it. Thanks.

agreed , near false advertisement there.. My amp was defective out of the box, but since i opened it , the "satisfaction guarantee" is now gone.. I mean this is ridiculous to have a "warranty " like that .. If its defective you can send it back, but you cant open the box....

Hey mj79, The sub hums even when the Subwoofer cable is disconnected, and it does it in every outlet of my house. But my cheap htib yamaha one doesnt hum at all.

Does humming hurt the speaker? Should i try to get them to rma it?

I believe the diameter is around 11". I upgraded the driver a couple of times. See post #3 of this thread. There are two problems when you replace the driver.
1. The diameter of the round opening is too small and you have to widen it in order to fit any other driver. I could not fit either the Elemental Designs driver nor Dayton driver from Parts Express and spent about an hour using a Wood File to widen the opening.
2. The driver of the AA sub has 6 screw holes and almost all other subwoofer drivers have 8 screw holes. You need to drill new holes on the box.

Humming Sound

" If you experience a hum when plugging the power cord into an electrical outlet, you are experiencing an electrical interferance in your house's wiring.
Option 1:Plug the subwoofer into a different AC outlet in the room, one that isn't supplying power to your components (A/V receiver, TV, cable box, etc.)
Option 2:Buy a grounding adapter that changes the 3 prong power plug on the powered subwoofer to a 2 prong power plug for proper grounding. Screw the connector on the adaptor to your switchplate (the screw connects the ground). You should also invest in a set of quality RCA cables that are shielded from electrical interference. "
Have you tried Option 2 yet?

True, It might say 11" like BD says but I have a spare HD sub 12 enclosure from my first one that went bad where i had to send the amp and sub back.. The diamater on this was 10 5/8, you could get 10 3/4 out of it, otherwise sand it down a bit, but i was at LEAST 1/4 short of 11"

pm sent Ryan, Suggestion.. Order a nice RG6 cable from monoprice, and deal with the humm till it gets there, ( with monoprice it will only be a few days anyways ) check it, if it still does it Then you will at least have a very good sub cable and you will know its the AA amp.. Cheapest and best way to go considering It doesn't seem like you have a good rca for your sub anyways

I have to say my dealings with AA were completely different. My sub arrived with some minor cosmetic damage. I tried calling them and that didn't work. So then I sent an email. I received a responce right away. My problem was handled by the same person from start to finish. They asked for pictures of the damage. I provided them, they offered to replace the sub or refund some of my money. I asked for the credit and it was put in my PayPal account the same day. I don't know what more you can ask for? Maybe some people just aren't patient enough? I really like my sub it was a lot cheaper then the PA-120 which i looked at hard before I bought this one. If I had it to do again I wouldn't change a thing.

How can it be the RCA though? It hums/buzzes when the rca isnt even plugged in to the sub? Im using a rg59u 25ft cable i bought from monoprice just recently.

On something like that they can get paid via shipping insurance claim. But if there's a problem with the sub then it's a different story.

Have you tried the 3 to 2 prong adapter?

He hasn't said he's tried Option 2 yet. It's a cheap fix( cheaper than a new RCA sub cable ), using a grounding adapter like these:

Acoustic Audio suggested this as a solution for "Humming Sound". Give it a try it might work.

The AC Plug on the sub is already only 2 prongs, and it hums/buzzes when the RCA cable isnt even hooked up to the sub

That's odd. I wonder why they'd suggest using a grounding adapter to change "the 3 prong power plug on the powered subwoofer to a 2 prong power plug for proper grounding.", when the powered subwoofer is using a 2 prong power plug to begin with?

Do they have a tech support line? If not return it.
