It just shows that when Blu-ray movies are priced correctly, they sell. I expect low numbers for January because of pricing and selection, but mostly pricing.

Yup...most of the Blu-ray's were cheaper than the DVD. Those numbers are impressive. I think it's safe to say that the format has officially taken off! It will take another 2-3 years for it to start defeating DVD though.

I am happy that Blu-ray has become a successful, high-quality replacement format to dvd.

If Microsoft had their way, we would all be downloading 720P videos with 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtracks at this stage.
