I really liked how that looked and will prob do something similar. I'll use the same molding from the wall panels around the switches and the material will run floor to ceiling around them and down the back wall.

vega2K: Thanks! Yep, I agree with you about the glare and I'm trying to decide if I want to do anything about it or not. It doesn't seem that bad when movies are playing and I wonder if anyone else even notices it. I could definitely put some kind of black velvet material there and it would hide the stage light completely, but I just hate to cover the nice wood, especially once I put another few coats of stain on the top. I'll have to see.

By the way, I love your setup too. I could go on and about all of the details. Your starfield panel project is absolutely amazing and made me want to do the same thing! Didn't you say the total cost for it was under $500?

TK,

I didn't realize that you had invested the time in applying coats onto the wood. In that case, I agree with you, I would not like to cover up the nice wood. As an alternative, you may consider simply getting non-reflective material from a fabric store (I always go with black velvet) and simply cut it out to fit the top of the stage and only place it when you view movies (if the glare bothers you of course). Then when done, simply remove and store out of sight maybe next to the subwoofer.

You are correct, the starfield cost me well under $500. Most of the cost went towards the illuminator/fibers (about $200), the crown molding (about $100) and the velvet material (about $60). The rest of the cost went towards the framing material, rigid insulation panel, nails, etc. Thank you for your comments as well.
