I didn't realize that you had invested the time in applying coats onto the wood. In that case, I agree with you, I would not like to cover up the nice wood. As an alternative, you may consider simply getting non-reflective material from a fabric store (I always go with black velvet) and simply cut it out to fit the top of the stage and only place it when you view movies (if the glare bothers you of course). Then when done, simply remove and store out of sight maybe next to the subwoofer. ![]() You are correct, the starfield cost me well under $500. Most of the cost went towards the illuminator/fibers (about $200), the crown molding (about $100) and the velvet material (about $60).
