My MM reissue arrived today. Thanks American Baron.

So what was so bad about the uncut disc that lead it to be banned??

Our checking authority is very strange some times. Movies that show heavy payback, vigilantism and things like war crime are banned very fast. It's a little small-minded but we have to take this.

Thank you so much for your replies and help. So if the movie is uncut the word "uncut" would be printed on the disc? Or one should actually watch the movie before determine?

Thanks.

So would Warner have got into trouble for packing the uncut disc in the first release??

@richfell:

Not Warner. Actually Media Markt has to get in trouble for this. For John Rambo (uncut) the advertisement is forbidden.

There are two levels for movies to get "banned":

1. (indiziert) - no advertisement and no public trading
2. (beschlagnahmt) - it is illegal to sell the movie

Examples for #1: John Rambo, Predator Part 1, Crank High Voltage
Examples for #2: Hostel 2, Evil Dead, À l'intérieur

I have got to respectively disagree with you here! I am no law major, but Media Markt ordered John Rambo CUT and that's what the "believed" was delivered. Both the Steelbook AND the Amaray were labeled FSK18 which is FALSE INFORMATION!! Warner obviously did not even produce any CUT Disks, yet they insisted they did. Then the insisted that it CUT, but just misprinted. It has, however, been proven that the Disks are indeed UNCUT.

Sorry, but Warner and Warner alone blew this one!!!! I'm actually surprised that the entire situation has been brushed under the carpet, but if anybody was get slapped with a heavy fine it would have to be Warner!!

Just my 2 Cents

That's right and wrong. Warner delivered the uncut disc but a few days before the release Media Markt knew about it and sold it anyway. Warner did not break any laws, just the contract with Media Markt. But Media Markt did.

John Rambo - the Uncut - steht auf der "B" Index was heisst - Beschlagnahmt. Besitz ist Strafbar...

John Rambo - the uncut version is not an example of #1 but of #2

That's wrong. List B is not "beschlagnahmt". List B just means, that the BPjM means the contest maybe would be break laws. Only a judge could bann a movie. And holding a banned movie isn't banned if it's banned because of "protection of minors".
