Watched:
"The Fountain," second time I've seen it, first time on Blu-Ray. It didn't make much sense to me when I first saw it a while back, but after thinking about it and reading other people's thoughts, I really enjoyed it this time around. I found it very sublime, thought-provoking, and emotional. Some of the imagery and performances are downright powerful. 4.5/5 |

Staying home all day due to imcliment weather conditions, I got the chance to watch all three parts of "Back to the Future" (yay!
![]() Part 1: I'd say the first movie is the best of the lot and could stand well on its own. All of the acting, writing, cameramanship, special effects, and production design are really well-done. Production design is especially creative, not only with the car and stuff, but with the smaller details (like notice how it's called the "Twin Pine Mall" at the beginning and the "Lone Pine Mall" at the end? It's because Marty ran over one of the two trees Mr Peabody had when he went back in time). It's a fresh, top-notch film. 5/5 Part 2: I've always enjoyed this part for all its depiction of the future, which is still quite novel, clever, and funny (come on 2015, I want my flying cars and talking jackets already!). It is still well-made too. It does rehash some of the old jokes from the first film, but it does so without being overly repetitive or dull. In fact, the movie does really well by introducing complexities in the story and revisiting the events of the first film. And then it leaves everything hanging for the third film ![]() Part 3: I've always felt this was a good, suitable finale. It does have some cool parts to it, but for the most part, it rounds off the characters and fills in all the holes left in the last two parts. Everything is pretty well-done, but I notice a couple of plot holes this time around (like, if Clara Clayton was destined to fall off the cliff in the beginning, how did her name wind up on Dr. Brown's tombstone? And when her wagon did fall off, where did her horses go? For that matter, why didn't anything they did in 1885 change much in 1985?). Still a pretty good movie. 4/5. Altogether (because I do consider it a singular, coherent, and mostly-complete storyline): 4.5/5 ![]() |

Loved it all. I had no idea that there was such
[Show spoiler] Score was great. Pacing was perfect for me. Casting Kevin Spacey as Gerty was smart, and he did a wonderfull job. Quiet and haunting. Thought provoking too. Movie 4.5/5 Audio 4.5/5 PQ I dont know, I was to entranced by the story and acting. ![]() |

I just watched an extremely effective horror flick called THE CHILDREN that was released a couple of months ago--
this is in the catagory of "killer kids" which typically is not a favorite of mine. This movie to me is the best of it's type-- moody, atmospheric, violent at times but never overdone, and actually somewhat believable meaning all the cliches of how stupid people act in horror films does not really apply here. This is an example of why I blind buy a lot of films in genres I like-- it's always to discover a gem like this one ![]() Last edited by AKORIS; 01-13-2010 at 07:30 PM. Reason: spell |

Pee wee's Big Adventure - An old school childhood favorite! My girl had never seen it. What can I say it is a classic and held up ok over time. Still has some classic moments like Large Marge etc....I watched it on standard directv unfortunately and dont think I will do that again anytime soon. I wouldve gave it a 5/5 when I was younger but now I will say 4/5. Got Em!!
