not much better, buy the dvd. if anything, it's worse. DVD pwns BD
Quote:
did you even try looking for the review? yeah, it's only your favorite show, so why would want the best audio/picture available? plus, no one on this site (blu-ray.com, in case you forgot) will ever suggest you replace a dvd with the BD. |

Lost looks absolutely incredible on blu. The depth in many scenes is as good as it gets and there is incredible detail. This should not even be a consideration. There are certain regrettable instances in which a blu only looks marginally better than the dvd, but they are few and far between and this is not one of them. It can be argued that Season 4 of Lost, or really any of the seasons except 1 (which still looks great, just not as good as 2 on), look almost as good as a blu can look. |

iam1bearcat - I have a 6 year old Sony home theater-in-a-box for a surround sound, so no HD audio for me, but it's a great system for the $175 I paid for it 6 years ago.
RSaurez - I can easily, and would much rather, purchase them at my local BB for $35 each. But then again, yes, I'm contemplating waiting until all 6 are released in a package this Christmas. Thing is, will the seasons ever be as cheap as they are right now? Teabaggins - No need to be sarcastic. Yes, I've read over the reviews. The whole point to this post was to ask how MUCH better the PQ was on BD over DVD. I was just shocked with how good the PQ was with the DVD version. |

I've only seen the last 2 seasons on blu, 4 is very good, 5 is pretty close to what I'd call reference quality.
Throw the DVDs away. |

I've had very little luck with this locally. The local used store gives me a pittance for any kind of media I bring in. Lately I've been sending DVDs to my sister and her family when I'm done with them.

just wrap the old dvds in saran wrap, run a lighter under the seam, and give them out at x-mas.

The box set was a blind buy for me and not only do I love the show but Blu Ray makes all the difference. The PQ constantly impresses me. Their are a few moments where its to grainy but just stunning work. Feels like your there literally!!!!

I just finished season 2. Never say the show on TV, but always wanted to. So about the time TF:ROTF was released on DVD/BD Best Buy had all seasons on sale for the same $35 a piece they are now. I got seasons 1-3 and with this current sale got 4 and 5. One of the key factors in getting these was the PQ on BD. I, as many others, cannot say enough about the PQ. and if you have the equipment to hear it in lossless audio, ........ bonus!!
So to you I say go to your BB and buy'em up. You could wait for the big complete boxset, but I personally dont think it will equate to the average of $35 a season. Basically, you wanna wait for the uber-boxset or start watching in all the HD spleader now?? Either way, you'll be happy with Lost on blu-ray. |

I always thought the DVD quality of LOST was superb especially back in the early days of the Show. But obviously its miles behind BD.
KEEP THE DVD's just for back up. |
