Wow, four to one! Isn't that the magic number Warner wants to see to become blu-ray exclusive?

Four to one? Are they saying that there have been 4 times as many blu-ray discs sold total as HD DVD discs sold? That would be a great increase from the last total disc numbers which had BD at 1.7m discs and HD at 1m or something around there.

400,000 copies on BD? I thought it was 400,000 combined, yet the article says nearly 500,000 combined. No wonder 300 was on top for so many weeks.

love blu-ray as much as the next on this site, but i dont believe the 4 to 1, at least not in the US. 4 to 1 may be true world wide. everyone should know, i am happy to see numbers like this, just want to know what exactly they relate to.

Not all retailers provide their numbers to Nielsen. WM, for instance, does not. I also don't believe they count worldwide numbers.

no matter the numbers, i like that they dont even bother wasting their time with the name HDDVD and just call it 'the competing format'. Ouch.

1. As clarified already Nielsen DOES NOT monitor all retailers.

2. It is highly unlikely that the numbers mentioned entail worldwide distribution. If they do I would like to see a source confirming the origin of the data.
