France Bubba Ho-Tep

http://www.dvdfr.com/dvd/f151859-bubba-ho-tep.html

Bubba Ho-Tep will be released on March 10, 2010 by Warner Bros.

I am assuming this will be Region All since it's WB. I love this film so I might import it.

Don't assume that. A Very Long Engagement was a Warner France title and Region Locked. Very likely this will if Warner only has rights to it in France. On the plus side, it might be an AVC/DTS-HD MA 5.1 disc.

Darn, may have to get this version since Anchor Bay UK continues to push their version back

Nice catch on this BTW.

The "DVD" logo makes me doubt it's official coverart.

I doubt it, Warner Bros is releasing it. But I'd wait for confirmation about a region lock. Warner Bros locked a title recently and it's surprising because they've never really locked a title before.

MGM released 2 versions of this on DVD in the U.S., but both are now out of print. I wonder if MGM still has the U.S. rights, or maybe Warner has them now?

I imagine MGM still has the rights, but someone else might end up with them if MGM sells off the rights.

I ordered this, so I will post all info about it when I get it in March.

That would be great. I have a Momitsu, so a region lock is no trouble for me.

I forget how that final scene played out, it was something like
[Show spoiler]Elvis was laying there dying and then we see some Egyptian hieroglyphics telling him that all was okay.
Is that how it went?

Maybe this release will force Wankor Bay to finally release the UK disc.

Based on sampling of a few different scenes, PQ was mixed and average. Looked like some DNR going on at times (other shots had a good amount of detail however). Overall the outdoor shots had a very hazy look to them, whereas indoor shots looked better. I'll give a better review when I get time to watch it (hopefully soon). Audio seemed ok.

It is Region locked to B and all the extras are PAL with forced French subs.
Movie occupies 14.4GBs of the Disc. I don't know how this release stacks against the German version, which apparently puts all the extras onto a DVD. However, this version used AVC whereas the German version uses VC1, which could potentially be a plus over the German release.

Note, the French version does have the Commentaries like the German version.
