Personally not expecting BD to win the transformers week.... But if it did, what a hoot that would be! I can see the hd-dvd boys turning themselves into pretzels trying to explain it away.

On the high-definition disc front, Evan Almighty easily captured the top spot on the HD DVD sales chart its debut week, while Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer remained atop the Blu-ray Disc charts. Both titles are available in high-def in their respective formats only.
DVD was Surf's Up first, Evan Almighty second (and Silver Surfer fourth).

even if they won this week it wouldnt make a difference because next week we are getting 15 blu-ray movies and hd-dvd doesnt have anything good left for this year and dont count shrek the 3rd because a lot of people hated that movie

Day and Date movies are the ones that tend to sell no matter what the quality is. Just look at Premonition.

I wonder how Evan Almigty's first week was, compared to Knocked Up. I'd be stunned if it beat Knocked Up.

It'll be interesting to see if FF4 2 held off Evan.

i'm sure surf's up blu-ray beat evan. because it did on standard dvd sales. read the whole article, it says that evan almighty was a flop. if surf's up destroyed it on standard dvd i'm sure it did on high def. the top three will probably be FF2, surf's up, and either evan or 28 weeks later.

I think it's a safe bet that FF42 beat Evan handily, and the HD porn factor of SU probably beat it as well

Evan stunk, its box office stunk, It's a "crap, nothing else to buy this week" title
