Default Pre-1990 Films on BD: Help with Recommendations!

Greetings Everyone,

I have been looking into expanding my catalog with more classic and older films, many that I had never even got on DVD, let alone BD. What are some of your recommendations that you love on BD? Be it a classic Van Damme movie, a horror, or classic comedy, etc.: What are some of your favorite pre-1990'ish films that are now on BD? Please share! Thanks!

No problem...I'm sure there is a bunch more that I have in my collection that I'm forgetting.

2001: A Space Odyssey... I'm kicking myself for almost forgetting that one.

Ghostbusters, Wizard of Oz, Gone With the Wind, Casablanca, North by Northwest, all mentioned above, are definite must-haves. Someone said the Seventh Seal--I'd also say that all the Criterion films are worth checking into as they are all excellently produced. All the Kubrick ones as well look really good.

Pretty much anything Warner Bros. or Disney animation looks incredible.

Some specific recommendations: Casablanca, The Adventures of Robin Hood, 2001 A Space Odyssey, The Searchers, Blade Runner, It's A Wonderful Life, Snow White And The Seven Dwarves, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, North By Northwest, All 60s James Bond films

Also if you like musicals try Grease, The Music Man and even South Pacific. Also don't forget Ferris Buellers Day Off, Amadeus and many many others.

The Wages of Fear (what a great nail-biter)
Patton (DNR Mess, but it's a great film if you don't have it on DVD)
Midnight Express (Solid film...... beware of Turks )
Casablanca (no reasoning needed!)

Obviously the classic Bond films, Godfather, etc.... that others are recommending are great too.

EDIT: someone else mentioned it, but North By Northwest is superb
