i saw the nightmare before xmas in 3d last night. unbelievable. the difference between 2d and 3d is bigger than blu and dvd. its not the cheesy red and blu glasses where stuff pops out at u type of 3d . instead u just ha ve these sunglass type of glasses and the image looks like a play. like u could jump into the movie screen and there would be depth and something to stand on. it was crazy can't wait for a 3d blu player

Well, red/blue and red/cyan 3D does not mean bad. any type of 3D can be made bad It is all on how it is done. The nightmare 3D is polarized or shuttered. the principle is the same. it all gets each eye to see one of two images displayed.
Although it is fun to have stuff stick out the screen at you, most 3D enthusiasts say the proper way is to have it look like you are looking out a window. If anything comes out beyond that window technically it is not good. In case any of you have red/blu or red/cyan glasses. you may have shrek, spykids sharkboy or any 3D dvd at home most those glasses will work. Here is some i do. But yeah. i love 3D. I need to see if nightmare is playing at the closest theatre near me which is 1 hour from me. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by calcajun; 10-20-2007 at 05:59 PM. |

Thanks. :-) They always seem to get a good reaction. Thats Six Flags over Georgia first weekend this month. Those pics and more can be seen here in a photo trip report.
http://p198.ezboard.com/SFOG-Fright-...cID=1211.topic I use to have the 3D elm street on Laserdisk. LOL! Love the Nightmare on elm street series. Well, except for one of them. can't think which one though. Only theatre near me that does disney 3D or real D is in baton rouge bout 50 minutes from me. Since i never saw nightmare B C 3D i guess i should take a ride and check it out tomorrow. By the way, you can go to the photo counter at Walgreens drug stores and get some free 3D glasses they giving away for a 3D regis talk show. They will make the pics look a little dark and the color not so great but they will work. Last edited by calcajun; 10-20-2007 at 07:09 PM. |

Yeah, it makes your eyes tired. Thats why mostly you see 3D in small doses or so many minutes out of a whole movie.
I did understand you meant cheesy. :-) Most times it was done in that manner. Now it is getting to where the 3d is really good and serious. Last edited by calcajun; 10-20-2007 at 07:11 PM. |

Speaking of N B C 3D, if you dig up some Red/Cyan or Red/Blue glasses you can see NBC 3D here.

In 3-D? Well, I think it's going to be a while. I know they are working on a Blu-ray player that is capable of displaying movies in 3-D but you would need a DLP with a refresh rate of 120. I think.

Personally, I hate anaglyphs of any kind, usually. I can deal with any kind of 3-D viewing technique, with or without glasses. But too much anaglyph does give me a headache. Doubtful that it will be in 3-D. There are 3-D HDTVs, but they're a bit too expensive still for the average consumer. Besides, Disney wants this to be an annual event. Your glasses also wouldn't be able to work with your TV if they did release a 3-D version. |
