X2...ordered mine from JR music world for 249 but it came up to 271 shipped. Wish I would have found the site you went to. But I'm extremely happy with it. On a side note I had a klipsch sw10 sub thats been sitting in my attic that I stopped using because it started bottoming out. The amp was not a good fit for the acoustic audio hd15 sub but I got experimental. I unscrewed the auto on switch of the AA amp so I could thread the speaker wire through it and connected it to the klipsch amp. Since the sub is in a corner you cant see the klipsch amp sitting behind it, and let me tell you...IT SOUNDS AWESOME. The klipsch sub never sounded that good and the AA sub didnt sound that good with the AA amp. So now I have 2 subs.

he connected another amp to the driver of the AA sub. he disconnected the auto on switch & ran speaker leads through the small hole to the other amp for power. that's how i tested mine. just have a small 80w amp. still did better than the AA.

The upgrade bug is killing me right now, I planned on picking up an amp or bigger sub but money needs to be used for something else right now.

Now I'm thinking of upgrading the amp on my AA PSW 12, has anyone done this yet and will I see enough of an improvement to warrant the money? I'm sure the amp in the AA could be greatly improved.

edit:
anyone know what the ohm rating is on the PSW12? I'm not having any luck finding an amp I'm willing to spend the money on.

The Dayton SA240 seems like a good one if it's a 4ohm sub other wise I think the lack in power would hurt perfomance.

Another option is the Dayton HPSA500, about perfect if it's an 8ohm sub but I'm not too sure I want to put up $250 on an amp for a $100 sub.

I'd love to pick up a 2nd PSW12 but I don't think the wife would let me in the house if I brought home another sub.

the sa240 is both 4 & 8 ohm. not sure what the rating is on aa subs, but it seems to power mine just fine. i have mine set at 9 o'clock (amp on +2.5) & it is loud enough for now.

Default so mad right now

i have been a lurker on here for quite a while, so about 3 weeks ago i decided, to go ahead and buy an acoustic audio hd 10, the sub was amazing, was totally happy with it until about 10 mins ago when it decided to bite the dust. was watching a new blu ray when i realized the sub was kinda buzzing and then it started to cut out and in, has any one else had this happen to them. i registered my sub so i should have my warranty so im gonna try and get this one replaced with a new one as i was really happy with it. how is the deep discounts customer service, are they easy to deal with.

I would send it back and get the PA-120 from premier acoustic or look at the Hsu STF-2, both are slightly more money but will be a much better sub in all areas, The HD-SUB10 that I have is in perfect working order, but doesn't even touch my eD, hell it is turned up twice as loud and I can't even hear it over the eD.

they are kinda slow to respond. look back over this thread & get the contact info for Josh. he was pretty good to deal with & very helpful. i decided not to send mine back & got a replacement amp (my gallery). i followed duneholic's lead & bought a dayton plate amp. it worked out better, but i had the money to buy an eD A2-300. read about it & the pa120 too late.
i hope you kept the boxes, they want it double boxed & you have to pay for shipping. at least that's what they wanted me to do. it's a shame that the later amps are crapping out, otherwise these were good budget subs.

And another one bites the dust!

I had same problems with my hdsub12, its a joke that you can open up a sub and have it be faulty right away. But its an even bigger joke when you can hardly get ahold of there customer service!

Yeah,i'm glad mine still works and havent had to contact them.I bought mine kinda at the height of the buzz about them was going on here.I like the sub,but i don't think theres any way it puts out the power it claims it does,i mean my Polk way overpowers it.

Default Hummmm....

Well, guys...I thought that I was going to escape the dreaded "Hum of Death" but last night it got my HD-SUB12. I had just finished watching a movie, and was removing the disk. All of a sudden there was a loud hum. It wasn't faint, it was loud. At first I thought it was coming from my HTPC. But, then I started toward the front of the room, and could tell it was the sub. I shut it down, unplugged the power cord and RCA jack. I knew it was probably not going to make a difference, but I had to give it a shot. So, I plugged the power cord back in, and switched on the amp without plugging the RCA jack back in. It's definitely a bad amp. I bought mine on 1-8, and registered the warranty the day I received it. (1-12) I was about to post here yesterday so that Big Daddy could add me to the owners list. I know there's always a chance to get a bad batch of any electronic components. And, I think that's exactly what happened to Deep Discount. They really should offer a full refund, no questions asked for everyone that has experienced this problem. It seems to be getting more wide spread. At least with this batch. I know they don't work on the weekends, but I went ahead and emailed support with all of my info; purchase order, warranty info etc. And I hope they don't drag their feet. I am willing to give them the chance to make this right. If they don't, then they've lost another customer. If they step up to the plate, and acknowledge that this has been a problem of late, then I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them in the future. I've notice that they don't even list any home subwoofers for sale. I wonder if this means that they've stopped carrying these or just out of stock? Anyway, lets just hope they do the right thing. That's all I ask. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress. And I just want to thank everyone here who post such great technical info. I usually just read and learn, since I rarely have anything to add that hasn't been said. Fingers crossed...
