The last couple weeks I've been posting on one particular thread at Amazon Home Theater Message Boards. I've been owning anyone who steps in my way, but recently I've been getting teamed up by HD-DVD fanboys and need some back-up.
I figure the best way to spread the truth and destroy FUD is post on boards like Amazon, where average consumers goto find answers. HERE's the link. If you aren't busy and want to hand some asses to these ignorant HD-DVD fruit cups, help me out. ![]() |

And here comes the artillery!!! You guys are the best!!!
And for any others looking for a great way to communicate to the uneducated masses: Amazon Home Theater Message Boards. People who do not know electronics use this a their main resource. Your spinning your wheels at places like AVS. Thanks again for the back-up!!! It give me much more creditability when I'm not the sole person spouting facts. ![]() |

Some people are just ignorant of the facts. Blu-ray sells better, because it is the better format and more people are understanding that.

But the more people who in fact do understand the better. As we all know, there's an abundance of FUD out there, and I see it actually working!!!
We need to battle the misinformation back now more than ever. If we all flood boards and look to give answers, we could end this war before any new life is breathed back in. Amazon and retail message boards alike! We need to own them and let people know the choice is clear! |

I just got the word yesterday that my Blockbuster store will be getting a High Definition TV in store, next to the BD section, to actually "show" the difference. It will play a short demo (for BD only), much like the one at Best Buy.
I think there is still a large fraction of the population who still do not understand the PQ difference between SD and BD. Hopefully this will help. And it's only for the stores who already carry BD's. |

That's good to hear!
I don't know if the BD demo I saw is the same as the one you're referring to, but when I first starting checking out BD compared to DVD, I watch the BD demo, and noticed that the DVD side was exaggerated & made to look worse than DVD actually does. I convinced them to setup a BD player & a DVD player onto the same TV and made sure that the DVD only was doing 480p & not being upconverted, as well as, that the TV was full 1080p for the BD. The result was that you could clearly see the difference between BD and DVD, but it was not as bad as the BD demo exaggerated it to be.\ Anyone else notice this on those demo discs...slightly exaggerated? |

They are $4.99 at my store. Yes, it's a corporate store. And yes, we love to waist money. But that's quite a lot of money to be spending...$2,000 times 1,500 stores = $3 million? I'm betting Sony is helping out in one way or the other.
And I think regular DVDs actually DO look that bad as what they look like on the demo discs. I didn't even like watching DVDs anymore after I got my Samsung LCD because it was so blurry and grainy. I pretty much stopped until I got my BD player. |
