What would you do if HD DVD simply does NOT die?

As another person pointed out some time ago, if everyone goes neutral then the "Warner effect" could happen. (EX: 300). That is burn for HD DVD and convert for blu-ray. If the quality is the same then why not just buy HD DVD? Neutrality is like pulling the rug out from under blu-ray, and should not be tolerated.

The smart thing for the Studios to do is put peer pressure on Paramount / Dreamworks. Everyone is waiting for the Christmas season to see how it is going. If BD wins by a large enough margin, then Warner and hopefully Universal follows the lead and become BD exclusive.

Or, they are riding the coattails of the Paramount contract and will convert to BD after 12/08 to create peer pressure to follow suit. I say sooner than later.

I'll be very careful critical of any movies they release after the switch to not get hit with "The Warner Effect". Remaster the entire film or you can keep it.

I made that point (about the warner effect) I'm sure many others have as well, I was simply answering based on the parameters of the question.

personally if Paramount or Universal (any HD-DVD studio for that matter) switches to BD only I'll buy their movies, during the war, remember the quality they release may not be as good as it can be but I see it as an investment, buy the crap version now so you can buy the quality release 2 year from now, when they release the Collectors edition or whatever. I want BD to win so bad that even tho I'm broke and can't financially add to the war anymore, I'm putting it on my Christmas list

Dude, pay your bills. There are plenty of better off supporters of BD to make the win.
