Default 808leo's mini home theater

Been a very quiet member of the blu ray community since mid of 09 and finally moved out of my parents place with the gf.. starting this thread so if anyone has any recommendations please feel free to give them

i love everything about my setup and i got a lot of it at really good deals.. i will be replacing my tv with a larger sammy led (my good friend is a distributer so i get it at cost) would like to get at least a 55"

its an older appartment with 18" concrete walls so i do get to enjoy my investment just not to its full potential but it still makes me smile

Eventually this will be moved to my bedroom and the living room ht will be replaced with everything sunfire, my friend rents the other room for his office/storage and needs to setup a display area to his clients (he has a lot of wine and dine clients hence the appartment, but he does have a store too which he beats bestbuy and sears pricing always.. amazon doesn't ship tv 32" and over here)

I like the setup. That is some view you have. Are you able to spread the towers out a bit more and possibly toe-in on them? Give that a try and see if there is any improvement.

toe in? as in angled in? if so ya theyre angled in towards the sweet spot directly in front of the tv

im kind of particular about things OCD i guess?? but behind the futon is another sliding door (wrap around balcony) so if i move the futon more over it will be blocking the door and i wanted the tv to be centered to the couch so because of that the most i could do to spread the towers would be switching it with the fan and moving the other tower a little bit more over as well

Vary nice HT leo ! I know space is limited on the stand , But you need to try & get that cable box off the receiver !

Heat is not A good thing for the electronic gear . The receivers vents are on top & the cable box is just increasing the heat sitting on top

Really nice place & HT

Switch the tower with the fan and move the shelf to the other side so you have equal distance apart from center. Then angle or toe in towards the sweet spot. You shouldn't have to move the futon at all. Just giving the towers a little more room to 'breathe'. You could always move it back if you don't like what you hear but I think that might improve your sound some.

I agree with spreading out the front speakers a bit. I originally had mine tight on my stand, but saw a lot of members here had theirs spread out a bit. So I tried it, and couldn't believe the difference. Let me also say, that is an incredible view.

Oh, and nice choice on your sub.

Just a suggestion that may help with wires.

I just received some but got to paint them before I install them so they wont stick out to much. White wont work well in my HT room.

Last time I was there I stayed at the Radisson on Kuhio Ave. I just wish I would have been able to enjoy it a little more (at least during the day). I was there for work. I know tough job.

I had some really great dinners while I was there, though. I remember Keo's, La Cucaracha's, and some okay sushi near a Harley-Davidson clothing store. I was there for a week, so there were a few other places, but I cannot remember then right now.

BTW, nice setup. I agree with all the suggestions noted above.

thanks hammie to be honest i never ate at any of those restaurants

i mostly just stay home and cook for the gf and watch movies or play games with her..

mmk so i tried placing the cable box under the center channel but with the two combined it was to high and didnt fit on the middle shelf.. so the plan is when the un55b8000 comes in hang that on the wall, place the center channel where the tv is now and put the cable box where the center channel is now

Also i wanted to order the led rope from ikea but they dont ship here.. any other suggestions for something reasonably priced? i tried checking like home depot and othe hardware shops but they only had light ropes at least 10' long

Hey, Leo!

That is probably the smarter decision.

It is much cheaper eating at home.

Nice set up and view

For the LED system, you could try the Cryon, this is the cheapest I could find it for in a quick search:http://www.priority-store.com/fipltoset29o.html .. Its $130 on amazon
