One more article for the S.O.A. Nation out there!!!!
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/show...3-renewal.html OR 'Sons of Anarchy' finale hits ratings high, scores Season 3 renewal!! More than 4.3 million viewers tuned in to Tuesday’s season finale of FX’s "Sons of Anarchy," making it the most-watched episode in the series' history. The 10 p.m. event also topped rankings among men 18 to 49 and men 18 to 34. On Wednesday afternoon the network announced it had ordered a third season. “The success of 'Sons of Anarchy' is very gratifying, and the show has become a bona-fide hit,” said FX President-General Manager John Landgraf said. Production on the next 13 episodes will begin in September 2010, and all series regulars are set to return. Kurt Sutter executive-produces the drama about an outlaw motorcycle gang. Katey Sagal, Charlie Hunnam and Ron Perlman star. In its second season, "Sons" averaged 3.7 million total viewers (up 66% from last season) and 2.6 million adults 18 to 49 (up 75%). There's a good chance they'll re-air season two the several weeks before season 3 comes out as a refresher. They did that on specific nights leading up to the new season, seems to have worked, so I don't see why they won't do it again.

Was just looking around the "net" to try to find more info on Season 3 and found this little tidbit on Wikipedia - looks like in addition to being a great show we are also getting some "literature"
From Wikipedia Creator Kurt Sutter and stars Katey Sagal, Ron Perlman and Charlie Hunnam at an event for the show in Los AngelesThe family drama is loosely based on Shakespeare's Hamlet;[16] indeed, star Ron Perlman has said, "I'm sure they’re going to stick to the structure of Hamlet all the way to the end (of the series)." .[17] Clay is based on the role of King Claudius and Gemma as a Gertrude figure. Jax stands in for Prince Hamlet himself. Jax's reflective questioning of the SOA culture, brought on by the birth of his son, references Hamlet's melancholy over the death of the king. Additionally, Jax "communicates" with his dead father by way of his late father's unpublished journal/manuscript; Hamlet, of course, literally communicates with the ghost of his father.[18] The drama and characterizations are also enhanced by drawing on Macbeth, another Shakespeare tragedy. Katey Sagal's Gertrude-like Gemma resembles Lady Macbeth because—while it is never entirely clear from Hamlet how complicit Queen Gertrude is in the murder of Hamlet's father—it is obvious that Gemma has willingly participated in the cover-up of the death and may even have encouraged Clay in his treachery. Creator Sutter has said of the Shakespeare element, "I don't want to overplay that but it's there. It was Jax's father who started the club, so he's the ghost in the action. You wonder what he would have made of the way it turned out. It's not a version of Hamlet but it's definitely influenced by it."[19] In the 9th episode of season 2, Clay makes a possible reference to Hamlet when he states "I'll handle the little prince," a reference to Jax. In the next episode, Jax is again referred to as "the prince", this time by Agent Stahl. There are also several references to Clay as King and Gemma as Queen. At one point, Opie refers the rift between Clay and Jax as Jax wanting to be King.[20] |

That Hamlet stuff has been on there since before the show even aired, with the exception of the 2nd paragraph. Sutter hasn't released much about season 3 yet but has said that he is taking the boys to Belfast for probably the first 5 or 6 episodes, and will have the boys trying to handle business and get Able back. Now whether or not he meant that would take 5 episodes I'm not sure. But I have complete Faith in Kurt and cannot wait to see what he has in store. He did say that if Kenny Johnson (Lem from the Shield, who also showed up at the end of season 2 as a member of the Tacoma Chapter) is free in the Spring he absolutely will write him into a major arc for season 3. |

I know, and I was initially very upset about Half-Sack but dude wasn't happy on the show creatively, apparently he thinks he could be a movie star, cause of AvP: Requiem lol, so Sutter didn't want an unhappy actor on his show. Far as I'm concerned good riddance.
